It looks like Futurama, but...why is this scene different? Whose voice is that? What's with the weird sounds? And why did they add THAT?

These are the questions I asked as I watched through two Futurama TV commercials from 1999—promos that aired prior to the first broadcast of Space Pilot 3000. What had begun as a quick video about the presence of Nibbler's shadow in pre-release teasers quickly exploded into something far more fascinating.

These promos were a treasure trove of unfamiliar sound effects, swapped voices, changes animation and effects...and a few other things that are just plain weird. The shadow became a footnote. This video highlights (and overthinks) every difference I could find—for fun, yes, but also because these differences reveal glimpses of creative thought and late-stage revisions that we would otherwise never see.
