(personal reason for warning: getting permanently banned from Reddit twice (for unfair and wrongful reasons under two separate accounts; first time without being directly warned for the first account; second time without any kind of warning for the second account) after having had reported vulgar and terrible content there on a regular basis)

(note #1: "automated message" received after second permanent ban)
Your account has been permanently banned for .

breaking the rules

If you feel like this account was banned in error, visit our Help Center to learn more how to file an appeal.

This is an automated message; responses will not be received by Reddit admins.

(note #2: Reddit "Help Center" topic)
My account was banned for spam, inauthentic activity, or ban evasion

(possible reason for second permanent ban: combination of having a new account made after a previous ban and content reporting done under that account afterwards)

Mario, I’ve seen you all over the internet policing people’s language for years. It’s so widespread that Google’s AI has enough data to write this if you search "Mario500 vulgar:"

The user "mario500" is an individual who frequently comments on various websites and often expresses his dislike for vulgar or profane language in articles, podcasts, and other media content.

References to "mario500 vulgar" generally point to this specific user's consistent commentary on the use of profanity across different online platforms, where he typically suggests editors or content creators avoid such language.

Examples of his comments include:

Noting that an episode of "DuckTalks" had language he found "vulgar, unnecessary, and detrimental".

Asking for no "vulgar (or profane) language" in articles on sites like Techdirt and Current.org.

Objecting to the use of a specific term in a "Doonesbury" comic strip, leading to discussions about whether the term was intended as profanity.

The term "mario500 vulgar" does not refer to the user being vulgar himself, but rather his repeated efforts to point out and object to it in content he consumes online.

If you’re on Reddit reporting every post you see that has a curse word, the mods are going to get sick of it and get rid of you quickly and I can’t say I blame them. If you’re offended by even the slightest bit of swearing, that’s your prerogative, but maybe the internet isn’t the safest place you.

You have also reported a number posts on here for vulgarity. I don't consider most of the words you have reported to be vulgar. We have a censorship system in place which filters out most of the profanity.

I will never ban you or anyone else for excessively reporting posts, but I think you are kind of wasting your time in most cases.

(suggestion: the Internet and humanity need more of this prerogative (to ensure their health and survival))

Sorry you got banned, but not everyone is a Christian. It’s rude to proselytize to people who don’t want to hear it, especially from the “naughty language melts my face” high horse you’ve been on for well over a decade. I hope, for your sake, that you’ll one day understand how alienating that is for you.

I believe you. You seem like a nice guy. But intent and reception aren’t necessarily the same thing.
