Just wondering what everybody's favorite Andy and Don movie is.

Andy:
A Face in the Crowd- If you haven't seen this, rent it! People may say that Andy plays a loveable hick in most of his early movies, but he is anything but loveable in this movie.
No Time for Sgts.

Don:
The Incredible Mr. Limpet
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

I love that movie, too! It's more of a kids movie but I enjoyed it.

I also liked It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Don Knotts had a *very* small role as a very nervous driver picking up Phil Silvers in his car. It's almost towards the end.

More of my favorite movies with Don Knotts:

The Apple Dumpling Gang in which he played a gangster named Theodore Ogelvie. The movie also starred Bill Bixby and Tim Conway.

In No Deposit, No Return, he played a would-be safecracker named Bert alongside Darren McGavin (Kolchak on TV's Kolchak the Night Stalker). Barbara Feldon of Get Smart fame also had a role in the film as Carolyn.

Both films were produced by Disney and were directed by Norman Tokar. Norman Tokar was the director of many Leave it to Beaver episodes before directing movies. He also directed episodes of The Doris Day Show.

Hi

Guess my two favorite Don movies would be "Ghost and Mr. Chicken" and "The Reluctant Astronaut" - he was very much in Barney character in both movies, don't you think?

Although it's probably not everybody's favorite Andy movie but it certainly was his darkest role when he played the title character in "Gramps." I saw that movie and he was such a different man. It basically has him plotting to kidnap his grandson, whose father is played by John Ritter. The film was made in 1995.

I agree Don Knotts had some really funny movies...here are a couple more that were not mentioned....

The Love God ?

How to Frame a Figg

I had never seen or heard about... The Love God? ....until a buddy of mine told me about it.

It is not one of the funniest; however, it should still be mentioned.

Is it "Angel in my pocket" or "Angel on my shoulder"? I have that movie but the quility is not perfect. I have been trying for years to get it on vhs, but it seems to be impossible.
I hate to see Andy in some of his other movies where he is violent, I like to think of him as the nice guy from Mayberry.
