It wasn't exactly a banner year for NBC. Every new show was one season and done except for Saturday Night Live.

The great writing team of Bill Persky and Sam Denoff (Dick van Dyke Show) launched both Big Eddie and The Montefuscos that year.

I believe Bronk aired on CBS, not ABC. The story goes that CBS cancelled Mannix and replaced it with Bronk. Carroll O'Connor was part of the creative and development team of the Bronk series. I have the DVD set and it's an alright show but not as good as Mannix.
