I just asked Google's AI if America's Funniest Home Videos (AFV) is a game show.

Yes, America's Funniest Home Videos (AFV) is widely classified as a game show because it involves a competition with cash prizes awarded to winners selected by a studio audience.

Key elements that categorize it as a game show:

Viewer Submissions: Amateurs submit home videos of humorous mishaps, pets, and children with the hope of winning money.

Competition Structure: Weekly top videos are selected by producers and then the studio audience votes for the first, second, and third place winners.

Cash Prizes: Winners receive significant cash prizes, with the weekly top prize winner moving on to a grand prize competition for a larger sum ($100,000).

While it is also a comedy and clip show, the competitive element and prize money place it firmly within the game show genre.

Wikipedia doesn't have it listed in the game shows category.

I don't remotely trust artificial "intelligence". Way too many lousy bots out there, many of which have attacked this site trying to make it slower.
