View Full Version : MeTV Announces 4 New Shows, Starting December 29 Marcus2026 11-28-2025, 03:58 PM DRnAPyFCdWo/?igsh=ZTFyYzVwaDl3OHli PaperClips 11-28-2025, 04:19 PM No idea what shows they got - but I think Raymond is cleaning up money-wise. And I have no idea why someone thought it would be a good idea to run the Brady Bunch on the aftershow after Svengoolie. eng51squad51 11-28-2025, 07:05 PM I heard that the 4 new shows is moving from MeTV Plus to the main MeTV Network BigManMike 11-28-2025, 07:22 PM I heard that the 4 new shows is moving from MeTV Plus to the main MeTV Network If that’s true then that would be a big disappointment. Most of the shows on MeTV+ are dramas. I was really hoping these 4 would be shows on Antenna and expiring there so they could come to Me. PaperClips 11-28-2025, 09:41 PM I will make a guess - Friday Night Light Lights or Early Edition in place of Perry Mason. franciis 11-28-2025, 10:00 PM monday dec 1st...seen two new shows on me tv schedule-tv insider.......... website AMackII 11-28-2025, 10:47 PM I suggest It’s any show that debut right before the 2nd half of the 1990s. Do Better, MeTV! stevea 11-28-2025, 11:52 PM I'm more curious about what is leaving rather than what is coming. Like could the Westerns have finally run their course, and go to their new network? Or could Hogan have run out of gas? Alan Brady's Hair 11-29-2025, 07:23 AM I was going to say maybe Wings is one of the shows going to MeTV, because Antenna TV is burning the whole series in a Thanksgiving marathon, but it's not really a MeTV type of show, is it? They're usually either Top Ten, or lots of Emmys, or syndication perennials. Possibly one of David Letterman's shows? Same production company as Everybody Loves Raymond, and could compete with Antenna's Carson (or they could steal Carson). Or Home Improvement, Golden Girls, [edit] Empty Nest, Coach, or Night Court. Merry24 11-29-2025, 09:02 AM Hmmm. Publicity Stunt. My guess Seinfeld the middle. Coach. I think Raymond took off and they are trying to gradually move out of the 50s. Merry24 11-29-2025, 11:48 AM Maybe than… 1. Bridget Loves Bernie it’s on Catchy Comedy’s Christmas Schedule. Perhaps this might be a show that will air after The Honeymooners on Sunday Nights 12:30AM 2. Newhart this show might be a pick up at 10:30pm WeekNights Adding another episode of The Andy Griffith Show at 10:00pm, this might be a better lead out of Everybody Loves Raymond. 3. Adding Comedy Classics to Saturdays With Little Rasicals at 6:00pm & The Three Stooges at 7:00pm & Laurel and Hardy at 8:00pm. Moving Svengoolie to 9:00pm-11:00. 4. The New Twilight Zone Saturday Nights at 11:00pm. Perhaps they could be retooling the WeekNight Schedule from 2:00AM-5:00AM or Sunday Nights from 1:00AM-5:00AM. I definitely think one of the Perry Mason's is going. Probably Matlock too. Dude111 11-29-2025, 12:10 PM Nothing that good I reckon...... space1999 11-29-2025, 12:23 PM I guess Raymond isn't doing so well. Metv pulling this publicity stunt to get viewers to tune in. They never did this before . I heard that the 4 new shows is moving from MeTV Plus to the main MeTV Network This is great if true. MeTV Plus is full of action shows and MeTV Main has been lacking it for many years now. It's about time we brought more back to channel. Emergency is currently the only one at a realistic timeslot. They dump all the others during the overnight hours when everyone is asleep. If I had to guess the 4 shows coming is going to be: 1. Hawaii Five-O 2. The 1980s Twilight Zone 3. Bosom Buddies 4. Mayberry RFD Duster76 11-29-2025, 01:13 PM To begin with, the fact that the announcement is coming during ELR tells us something right off the bat, the shows coming will be of interest (at least to some extent) to that audience. The most obvious addition would be King of Queens which will likely replace Hogan's Heroes. ELR and King of Queens go together like Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. I think Carol Burnett is on the way out, last summer it was reduced to Sunday's only so we can assume it's not doing that well so look for that to go. I wouldn't be shocked to see a double Seinfeld added with Mason moved to midnight. Emergency has been on at 5pm for about a year (maybe a bit longer), that timeslot has always been a struggle so I would imagine that might get moved out with one of the METV+ dramas moving in. All in the Family tends to wear out its welcome around the two year mark, so we might see a return of Columbo or possibly another of the METV+ dramas. Those are my guesses. Anyone who remembers oldies radio stations knows the drill, once the playlist starts moving newer titles in the changes come swiftly. METV as we know it is going in a different direction, the 60's series (including TAGS) will disappear or be relegated to off hours. It was a good run. 1960'sTVfan 11-29-2025, 02:43 PM This is precisely why I've invested in a DVD collection of favorite classic TV shows, no need to rely on MeTV or any of the other retro channels, I stopped watching those channels several years ago. It's great having the DVD's. As time goes along, it's inevitable that the retro channels will make schedule changes, remove some shows and add others. For me, the classic TV era was the 1950's through the 70's. With few exceptions, I don't watch shows from the 80's and forward. King of Queens has only been on Cozi TV for a little over a year, and is now their main prime time show, 7-10 pm ET. I don't think they'll be moving soon. Seinfeld's still in local syndication and I assume doing well, so MeTV would have to preempt it wherever it's still under contract. Again, I'd be looking at some shows like Night Court, Golden Girls/Empty Nest, Coach, The Nanny, or Home Improvement. TSMIV 11-29-2025, 03:12 PM I will make a guess - Friday Night Light Lights or Early Edition in place of Perry Mason. Early Edition would be a good pick up for them since it's not available to stream anywhere that I know of. I bought the complete series on DVD a few years back, but it would be totally new to younger folks who didn't see it in first run. PaperClips 11-29-2025, 03:49 PM Early Edition would be a good pick up for them since it's not available to stream anywhere that I know of. Mayberry RFD Raymond is driving METV right now. Nobody is tuning in to watch Bosom Buddies - and H Five O has failed multiple times. S Duster76 11-29-2025, 10:39 PM King of Queens has only been on Cozi TV for a little over a year, and is now their main prime time show, 7-10 pm ET. I don't see METV having any interest in Night Court. Empty Nest is a complete nonstarter. I don't think there would be any interest in Coach or Nanny. That leaves us with Home Improvement which would work well with ELR and has a good history in reruns and that's a big deal for METV. Home Improvement is definitely a possibility. Golden Girls would seem like an ideal choice for METV so that's definitely a possibility. Duster76 11-29-2025, 10:42 PM Early Edition would be a good pick up for them since it's not available to stream anywhere that I know of. I bought the complete series on DVD a few years back, but it would be totally new to younger folks who didn't see it in first run. Early Edition has no successful track record as a rerun. METV likes big shows, that had big audiences, and has had success in syndication. Duster76 11-29-2025, 11:13 PM Raymond is driving METV right now. Nobody is tuning in to watch Bosom Buddies - and H Five O has failed multiple times. S Exactly right. ELR is a statement show, a 25 year old the year the series came on will turn 55 in 2026. That's who the network wants to be appealing to. Like Nick at Nite and TV Land before it the old METV is disappearing, either you get on board, or you head for the exit. Duster76 11-29-2025, 11:22 PM This is precisely why I've invested in a DVD collection of favorite classic TV shows, no need to rely on MeTV or any of the other retro channels, I stopped watching those channels several years ago. For me, the classic TV era was the 1950's through the 70's. With few exceptions, I don't watch shows from the 80's and forward. You're on target. The day Raymond arrived the network was beginning a process which over the next year to 18 months will relegate anything from the 50's/60's/70's to overnight or the junk heap. Merry24 11-29-2025, 11:40 PM Did Me TV get a Management Change? Why can’t it be a mix example Ray 9 Andy 10 etc. I wonder if this mean antenna will bring back Beaver & The Monkees add Brady Bunch and etc. stevea 11-29-2025, 11:41 PM I was going to say maybe Wings is one of the shows going to MeTV, because Antenna TV is burning the whole series in a Thanksgiving marathon, but it's not really a MeTV type of show, is it? I had thought of Home Improvement, but that has faltered in the past, elsewhere. Merry mentioned Seinfeld but they'd run into trouble in Primetime with other local channels, including here. I gotta think primetime is involved; otherwise, they wouldn't announce it during Raymond. Merry24 11-29-2025, 11:54 PM Off subject wondering why they are airing more Christmas episodes Thanksgiving Weekend compared to Christmas Eve & Christmas. opus 11-30-2025, 02:00 AM You're on target. The day Raymond arrived the network was beginning a process which over the next year to 18 months will relegate anything from the 50's/60's/70's to overnight or the junk heap. Except of course MASH and Hogans Heroes. Bonniegirl 11-30-2025, 03:06 AM I want Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, Family Affair and Car 54 , where are you. But the chances of that happening are slim and nil . icecream 11-30-2025, 04:24 AM It had better not be Home Improvement. That show is great on LAFF. 1960'sTVfan 11-30-2025, 06:53 AM You're on target. The day Raymond arrived the network was beginning a process which over the next year to 18 months will relegate anything from the 50's/60's/70's to overnight or the junk heap. It's sad but true that the audience for the older shows from the 50's to 70's is gradually dropping off. The addition of Raymond to MeTV's schedule is just the first sign of where they're going with their future programming. I'm just glad to have most of my favorites on DVD's. Things that remain on my want list are Forever Fernwood, the follow up series to Mary Hartman. I'd love to have Forever Fernwood on DVD. Also the 2nd season of Burke's Law, along with the follow up series Amos Burke Secret Agent. And there's a few one season sitcoms from the 60's that I'd like to have on DVD, The Cara Williams Show being one of those. But at this point I know that it's not likely for any of these to get a DVD release. Cara Williams Show does have a few episodes posted on You Tube. Duster76 11-30-2025, 12:22 PM Except of course MASH and Hogans Heroes. MASH will stay, I agree with you on that show. I think Hogan's Heroes will be gone. ELR is the foundation of the new METV, the network will be bringing shows in that complement that series. TAGS is probably safe for 2026 but I do not expect it to be in primetime beyond next year. It may be moved to the early morning hours or off METV altogether by the beginning of 2027. Merry24 11-30-2025, 01:25 PM What about Svengoolie do you think that Svengoolie will leave Saturdays Prime time? Or leave permanently? I wonder if Full House will Return to Me TV Full Time? Where does that leave Leave It To Beaver & The Brady Bunch & The Three Stooges? Do you think Me TV will deticate itself to having A Very Merry CLASSIC Me TV Yearly respectfully? Or was 2024/2025 the last Holiday Season with A Very Merry Classic Me TV? space1999 11-30-2025, 01:33 PM Raymond is driving METV right now. Nobody is tuning in to watch Bosom Buddies - and H Five O has failed multiple times. S I haven't been watching ELR so I didn't know. If it is one of highest rated shows than yes I expect more sitcoms like that on the channel. Exactly right. ELR is a statement show, a 25 year old the year the series came on will turn 55 in 2026. That's who the network wants to be appealing to. Like Nick at Nite and TV Land before it the old METV is disappearing, either you get on board, or you head for the exit. I still see plenty of baby boomers and GGs on facebook watching/talking MeTV. Yes I'm aware that sadly someday those generations will fade out from society and with it the tv shows but it hasn't happened yet. It doesn't explain the abundance of Westerns still on the channel. You're on target. The day Raymond arrived the network was beginning a process which over the next year to 18 months will relegate anything from the 50's/60's/70's to overnight or the junk heap. You think so? That's a quick phase out for the channel. It will really become current Nick at Nite. Are the 4 shows going to be Friends, Seinfeld, King of Queens and Reba? Or was 2024/2025 the last Holiday Season with A Very Merry Classic Me TV? What I've noticed is they are pushing the after-show more than Svengoolie. He is their most popular show - I know someone who has access to the ratings. If he leaves, it's on his own terms. Duster76 11-30-2025, 03:08 PM I haven't been watching ELR so I didn't know. METV would be very interested in all those titles with the exception of Reba. It comes down to money and availability. With respect to the daytime western block that may stay in place for now with primetime being the first concern, but please note Weigel did begin operating a Western themed subchannel during the year so the western block may be reduced or phased out altogether in the next year or so. Longtime viewers of the channel would appreciate some reassurance that the channel isn't planning to dump the programming they have come to expect, the response by METV management is just the opposite announce the new shows during ELR. networkman 11-30-2025, 05:18 PM The 4 new shows I would like to see come to MeTV are all classic comedies. If he leaves, it's on his own terms. The Svengoolie issue is a tough one for METV. Rich Koz turns 74 in March, over the course of time he has had several heart attacks. Who knows how much longer he will want to continue, the new cast of characters is plan B should Rich decide to throw in the towel or health issues make the decision for him. I don't think the folks currently in place have the talent to come close to filling his shoes. They need to keep looking. Merry24 11-30-2025, 07:55 PM I don’t understand why Me TV is changing the format? Or is it? Yes Me TV has added a lot more programming outside of the 1960’s and 1970’s decades as of recent (Collectors Call & Full House & Raymond), but before Me TV went Nationally it aired shows from the 50’s thru 2000’s. Now I will admit I don’t understand why they haven’t added The Adventures Of Ozzie and Harriet and other shows from earlier decades recently. My guess they might be adding programming outside of where the Sitcoms air. They want to announce during Raymond to bring in ratings for Raymond. It will score big I’m sure well played by Me TV. With all the different Classic TV Channels the well known shows are already airing somewhere so it would be difficult to get Classics. Perhaps Me TV is trying to not go away from Classic TV but brinning in other programming outside of the 50’s thru 70’s decades. I will admit that it makes no sense to Remove Classic programming from a Channel because Boomers and X are out of the demographic thinking like that is in accurate because most young people don’t watch cable or over the air channels. The young folks stream on Hulu or Netflix. Look at me I’m at the end of the X generation but I’ve enjoyed programming from all eras because I grew up watching NICK at NITE. Bottom line let’s just give Raymond the ratings tommorow (Dec 1 2025) and will find out more on what the future has in store for Me TV! The same could be said for Will and Grace. On the other hand the network would have an interest in The Golden Girls, it definitely checks all their boxes. BigManMike 11-30-2025, 11:02 PM Well they have Catchy which has older shows so maybe some of them might move over there. BigManMike 11-30-2025, 11:04 PM I would also love for them to add the Cosby Show but I don’t know if that would happen. And it would be nice to see Family Matters and Fresh Prince too, but those two would probably fit better on their sister network Dabl. Merry24 12-01-2025, 01:10 PM The Mary Tyler Moore Show? Looking forward on seeing the NEW Schedule!" They just announced the new shows for January, only other change will be the shows that are dropped from the schedule to make room 1960'sTVfan 12-01-2025, 11:20 PM Has MeTV ever run The FBI series with Efrem Zimbalist Jr.? I have the DVD's but just asking because I don't recall it ever being on MeTV. Marcus2026 12-01-2025, 11:24 PM The show has never been on MeTV, not even when it was only a local network in Chicago. stevea 12-01-2025, 11:28 PM Although I haven't seen any posts from Snowpeck in a while, it'd be great to see a schedule. Otherwise, it's around a two-week wait to see January. Duster76 12-01-2025, 11:58 PM Well, what we have here are at least two retreads, Hawaii 5-0 and Charlie's Angels both shows had relatively short runs in late afternoon. Were Fantasy Island or Hart to Hart ever on METV? I don't know what to make out of this announcement, why make a fuss if the shows are going to fill in the graveyard shift. Fantasy Island is a show that couples perfectly with The Love Boat so it could be added to the Sunday line-up, I just can't imagine where it would fit in the daily line-up. Hart to Hart feels like another weekend show maybe two episodes replacing All in the Family. It's not that much different from Diagnosis Murder so maybe METV could put it on at 11am and move In the Heat of the Night to 12. Hawaii 5-0 track record isn't good, the overnight slot would be the only place that would make any sense. Charlie's Angels definitely seems like a once a week show it didn't have success in the past, maybe METV is moving the westerns from Saturday and replacing that block with some detective series. We came into Monday evening with questions, and we left with more questions. space1999 12-02-2025, 12:16 AM I'm not sure why everyone is thinking these shows replace the graveyard block? What if Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, and The Waltons are on the bubble of being removed? Did we forget about the extra hour of MASH at the 6pm timeslot? Plenty of hours to plug these shows into. I highly doubt MeTV would hype this announcement up only to put all these shows at 2am to 5am. That would be dumb and pointless cause nobody would be awake to watch. rvoyttbots 12-02-2025, 12:27 AM They can replace all the MASH & I wouldn`t shed a tear I doubt the Westerns will be touched on Saturdays LittleRoom02 12-02-2025, 12:29 AM I believe Fantasy Island was on MeTV back when it was a Chicago-only channel. That or it was on MeToo back when that channel was a thing. stevea 12-02-2025, 12:29 AM Yes, Fantasy Island. would fit with The Love Boat. Two possibilities, if that is a pairing: Mama's Family isn't doing well or is expiring, or Collector's Call has run its course; so FI could go either at 4 or 6 ET on Sunday. Seems I remember MeTV having Hart to Hart at some point; if so, it's been a long time. stevea 12-02-2025, 12:38 AM They can replace all the MASH & I wouldn`t shed a tear I doubt the Westerns will be touched on Saturdays I wouldn't care if any of that went away, but I doubt these involve any of those shows. I could see a revamp of Sunday in the works. BigManMike 12-02-2025, 07:57 AM There you go. It wasn’t the Friends, Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family type scenario some had envisioned. Any of those are better than MASH or Hogan’s Heroes. 1960'sTVfan 12-02-2025, 09:30 AM I'm not sure why everyone is thinking these shows replace the graveyard block? Plenty of hours to plug these shows into. I highly doubt MeTV would hype this announcement up only to put all these shows at 2am to 5am. That would be dumb and pointless cause nobody would be awake to watch. I can concur with this, doesn't really make sense to announce four new shows if they're going to be run during the overnight. Like Steve said, maybe they're planning to shake up the Sunday schedule. Will see what happens. rvoyttbots 12-02-2025, 09:56 AM I can see EMERGENCY! being replaced with Hawaii 5-0 IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT by HART TO HART FANTASY ISLAND probably Sunday, with its fantasy element maybe an hour of the STOOGES First hour of MASH with CHARLIE`S ANGELS Duster76 12-02-2025, 12:43 PM They can replace all the MASH & I wouldn`t shed a tear I doubt the Westerns will be touched on Saturdays MASH is one of their most popular shows, I doubt they'll drop it or cut down on the number of daily episodes. The westerns are popular but METV has a western subchannel so they're competing with their own network for 7 straight hours. opus 12-02-2025, 01:24 PM Any of those are better than MASH or Hogan’s Heroes. I like 2 of them, but I was more talking about the time frame of when those shows first came out, and not the specific shows themselves. Duster76 12-02-2025, 01:37 PM I can see EMERGENCY! being replaced with Hawaii 5-0 IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT by HART TO HART FANTASY ISLAND probably Sunday, with its fantasy element maybe an hour of the STOOGES First hour of MASH with CHARLIE`S ANGELS 5-0 was in that timeslot a few years back and did not perform well. The show is on in primetime on METV+, the only possibilities are overnight or add it to the Sunday night/Monday morning block. I agree with you on Fantasy Island and Hart to Hart. Another possibility for Hart to Hart would be as a replacement for Emergency. Charlie's Angels has the same problem as 5-0, when placed in the late afternoon/early evening timeslot it didn't perform well. I think they'll use it on weekends. If you think about it The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Charlie's Angels, and Hart to Hart make a good block of shows that can be programmed together, maybe 3-7 on Sunday's and moving Collector's Call into the 7pm slot or 2-6 leaving the rest of the evening/nighttime line-up alone. If Raymond is performing really well, they could easily expand that to Raymond X4 and dump Hogan. IMO if they thought they could do better, they might do it. I don't understand only airing 3 out of the 4 new shows once a week, especially when they got a high episode count. At least Five-O replaced Heat of the Night. A big disappointment timeslot wise. They surprised us with the shows but let us down with the timeslots boooooooo. Hopefully we get more changes in 2026. Duster76 12-02-2025, 09:09 PM I thought 5-O was in the 6 pm ET slot, where they had trouble for years, with Flintstones X2, Flintstones/Happy Days, Addams Family X2, A-Team, and now MASH X4 As Merry pointed out, there are more changes. While putting Angels, Hart to Hart, Fantasy Island and Love Boat together makes sense from a continuity perspective I don't know that it will generate a large enough audience on a long-term basis. The hardboiled Hawaii 5-0 doesn't seem like a good fit in late morning between the light drama of Matlock and the gentle story telling of The Waltons. opus 12-02-2025, 09:44 PM Leaving Sunday: The Beverly Hillbillies Not leaving, moving to 11am ET, dumping Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. Happy Days strikes me as a show people like to remember more than they like to rewatch, the whole Fonzie thing didn't age well. Laverne and Shirley surprise me, I thought this series would be a perennial similar to Bewitched, Jeannie, Hogan's Heroes. Seems like Gillian's Island has finally run out of gas. BigManMike 12-02-2025, 10:10 PM It seems like Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley have never done well on MeTV. They have been moved around a lot and come and gone from the network several times. Duster76 12-03-2025, 09:32 PM Happy Days is much better than Laverne and Shirley, Fonzie rocks. The point was not which one was better but which series had the greater potential in the rerun market. In my opinion for a variety of reasons it was Laverne and Shirley. The very concept of "Jump the Shark" is right from Happy Days, the Fonzie waterskiing scene which occurs right at the beginning of season 5!
