A while back before I found this board and I was searching for any/all information on Freddie I checked Della Reese's book out.
called Angels along the way.
In her book Della comments that the question she is asked most often is Did Freddie Prinze mean to kill himself?
Well she goes on to say that she doesn't believe that he did, that as she puts it,drugs may or may not have played a part but that Freddie was a joker who liked to shock people
(Here is her account of what happened that surprised me.)
She said that Freddie was in a hotel the Comstock but that he was at a party and was trying to shock the other guests and put the gun to his head and the gun really went off.
I don't know how she can write that in a book when there are so many articles that state that he and Dusty were the only two people there.
I wonder where she got her info?
Has anyone else read Della's book?

Are you sure she meant that he shot himself at the party, or that he showed off with the gun at the party? I find it hard to believe that Della would contradict the official reports.

But, hey, in Hollyweird, I guess anything can happen.

By the way, does anyone know if Della, Dusty Snyder or Carol Novak attended the funeral? Something else I've been wondering about...

As I said it surprised me that she would say that when it goes against everything I've ever heard about it(especilly since she's a minister-you wouldn't think she'd lie)
That's why I'd like to hear from anyone else who may have read her book.
I hope I just misunderstood her wording.
Maybe that's what she tells herself so she can think he didn't kill himself.
As to weather Della came to the funeral according to her book she was stranded out of town when Freddie shot himself and was hospitalized but did get back in time to go right to the funeral. The others you mentioned I don't know about

Where did Della get her info? I`ve never heard that version before. I think when Della walked through that patio glass door years ago it did more to her than cut her up badly, it messed up her mind.
