I was originally going to watch ABC's airing of Mary Poppins on the night of Thanksgiving. But surely that will be available on demand. If you are lucky enough to have BYU TV, they are airing back-to-back presentations of The Sound of Music (the classic Julie Andrews version) at 8:10 and 11:16. This is a station that is usually commercial free, if not just minimal ads. BYU's Sound of Music airing would obviously be better to watch than ABC's in December, which is extra padded with commercials almost 5 hours runtime.

^^Yeah, Plus, ABC's airings of The Sound of Music have dreadful all-capital VITAC closed-captioning (and unfortunately, ABC's showings of Mary Poppins are that same way too. Another reason to hate that network's exclusive contract with VITAC/Verbit). Thankfully TCM's and BYU-TV's showings of The Sound of Music DO NOT retain that horrible CC style, being in lowercase instead.
