View Full Version : Just finished watching Career Day and Mr. T should have never been given his own show
TVFactFan 11-22-2025, 05:34 PM It was nothing funny about the character at all and the only laughs generated was from the sweathoggs making fun of him. So it was no surprise no one watched the premiere of Mr. T and Tina. I cant believe why ABC would even agree to put the show on the schedule.

I agree that Mr. T and Tina was a pretty poor show. I did watch it during the few weeks that it aired but the only reason is because I thought Susan Blanchard was cute looking.

I didnt know Ted Lange from Thats's my Mama was on the show. I just found that out tonight when I came across a clear copy of the opening credits and toward the end I saw his name in the credits.
years ago the version I saw on the opening credits was so bad looking I couldnt even see the name only could hear it

Probably from the goodwill Pat Morita had built up from Happy Days.

Because of Susan Blanchard, I actually wouldn't mind having the full series on DVD, including the unaired episodes. I think there's a total of 9 episodes but only 5 ended up being aired.

It dont look like the show had much of a chance to get viewers. After the 1st episode it was pre-empted twice for world series and aired one more time and then it was announced it was cancelled

One episode that I still remember is when Mr. T invented an "anti-gravity belt". When someone put the belt on, they would float up towards the ceiling, and the prop wires attached to the person were clearly visible as they "floated" in the air. It was so bad.

That's the episode that used to be on YouTube. The video quality was so poor that I don't think I could see the prop wires.

I watched the original ABC airing in 1976, and I was thinking how could the network give the green light to air something so lame.

You Tube can sometimes be a good alternate source if you're searching for rare stuff that's not available on physical media. I've found some cool things on there over the years.
