How many of you are preparing yourself for the END OF FRIENDS?:(
I know I probably won't be able to take it!! Friends is the best show!! Its weird because I've been watching it since I was little. When It started I was only 7 or 8, I've been watching it ever since!! I'm now 16..and to part with it is just sad!! I don't want people to get bored with it, but I also don't want it to leave...:( So back to my origionaly question .... are you preparing yourself?:(

As much as I love Friends, it needs to end after the next season, IMHO.

Season's 6 was DIRE and 7 was okay medicore most of the time. Season 8 has been wonderful, and hopefully season 9 will also be, but I really do think it's time the show was laid to rest. Let it go out while it's still on top I say.

I know that Friends is going to end soon and that's really sad! But a life without Friends? Now there would be nothing to watch on Thursdays! Friends is a part of my life! I need my Friends!

Friends is one of my very favorite shows, but I think it needs to come to an end as well while it is still on top. Last season was pretty good, but this season is not nearly as good as any of the previous seasons, IMO. Besides, it'll be interesting to see how it ends! :)

----

Phoebe: [imitating Chandler] OK, could that report BE any later?
Chandler: I don't sound like that.
Joey: Oh, yes you do.
Ross: The hills are alive with the sound...OF music!

I'd rather see it go out on top but I'm running out of shows that I watch on regular TV. Even though it hasn't been as funny, I'm still going to miss it when it's gone.

I love Friends so much! It's sad to see it go, but maybe that's good. So then people won't get tired of it and they won't make the show so repetitive.

But it's not going anywhere just yet. We still have one more season to enjoy.

I am ready. Season 9 has sucked so far. They have nothing interesting this time, 7 had the Monica and Chandler Wedding, 8 had Ross and Rachels Baby and those were great. This time they are going nowhere with this and then come April they are going to make a complete turn around and start going somewhere with it. I hope its Ross and Rachel getting engaged, that way Season 10 will go out the right way. They can get married either for November or February Sweeps, I dont see them getting Married at the end of the show, it doesnt work. I always invisioned the end of the show with all of them packing up and moving. Like Monica and Chandler buy a house in the suburbs, Joey goes to Hollywood and Pheobe goes with him (maybe they will be romanticly involved) and Ross and Rachel would stay in the city. This would be a good ending, there would be closure for the veiwers, its better than all of them staying in the city. That wouldnt work, atleast for me because in my head the group would just be going on with life in the city and if they ever did a reunion it wouldnt really be a reunion. NBC is going to be screwed without Friends. The only reason all the other shows on Thursday are good is because they have Friends as a lead in.

Season 9 wasn't that bad. Pheobe and Mike had a little "thing" going on, so it wasn't that bad. But Monica and Chandler haven't done much since they got married. Chandler moved to Tulsa, OK and that was just pretty lame. Rachel and Ross are funny with eachother and the baby. Joey is just plain funny. Without him, the show would not be able to survive!

Yeah, I'd rather them go out on top. But like NBC said on the twenty must see tv thingy, Cheers then Seinfeld, then Friends and that hopefully there will be a show to replace friends .
Or something like that

NBC is definitely going to be screwed after Friends goes off the air. Scrubs didn't do as well as they thought, Will and Grace is starting to sag in ratings. Frasier is probably going to go off the air the same time Friends does.

Only thing I think that will save them at this point will be a Friends spin off. Which I don't think will happen.

We have another season to look forward to, plus a spinoff, perhaps with Joey. I look for the remaining five to make appearances on that show, as well.

I also have all my videotapes, so I will never be without them! :D

I do think Season 9 has been a bit lacklustre, but I think that has more to do with the business that's going on behind the scenes. We all thought the show's 9th season would be its last and now we're told we've got another season coming up.

How can the writers plan anything really worthwhile when they're not sure if the show will be on to carry out whatever plots they'd like to develop? Like Ross & Rachel getting back together. That is something that just can't be sprung up on us. It's something that would have to take time to develop, and yet the show's future is/was in a state of limbo. So the only way to deliver anything remotely on schedule was to do plots that were somewhat lightweight.

I'm not sure if this is why, but it makes sense to me. If the 10th season was known to NOT be the final season, that would give the writers a lot of leeway to develop some plots. Instead they're
kind of forced to do eps that are more silly than funny, so that if the show were to be cancelled at the last minute, there would be no loose ends. Episodes of this nature can give the appearance that a TV show is tired and has run its course. But I think with some solid planning and a commitment from the network for a couple of years (if not more) then the show could easily sustain its quality. There's plenty that the show has not tapped into yet.

Just my opinion anyway...
