Ann B Davis reflects on the Brady Bunch. Not sure when this was recorded but its really good. A very rare comment about the Variety Hour. She claims she enjoyed it in this interview. But I've read Susan's book about the Variety Hour and supposedly Ann B Davis hated it. She hated it so much that she told all interviewers for years they could ask any question except about the Variety Hour. Anyway, she shares some great memories and how talented the cast was.

She hated working with Rip Taylor. They made him her love interest which made things even worse. She was a good actress because you would never know it watching the show. The first show had no Alice and no Rip Taylor. For some reason even after its highest rated show they wanted to revamp it and bring Alice and a steady comedian. I also found his comedy annoying.

BTW, if you have any interest in the Brady Variety Hour, the book is really good with all the secrets revealed. It also showed how freaking hard they all worked. They had to rehearse recording the songs one day, then practice dancing, and then lip sync to the recorded track.

Sounds like it wasnt as fun as we think it was!! (Or any show for that matter)
