I was listening to Yaz's album Upstairs At Eric's and I discovered that Alison Moyet who was the lead singer of Yaz/Yazoo went on a solo career and I would like to know if it happened after Yaz split? When you listen to Alison Moyet sing she sounds like Cher and Alison still is releasing albums today

Her first solo album, "Alf", came out in 1984. Alison went on to have considerable success as a solo artist, before her record company screwed her over for 8 years. She made a comeback in 2002 and has released a number of albums. Alison recently toured to much acclaim. She is wonderful.

I found out about Yaz/Yazoo through the movie Napoleon Dynamite where their song Only You was featured but I actually discovered Alison Moyet when I heard her sing The Coventry Carol on the holiday album A Very Special Christmas and I was surprised at her voice and as I mentioned she really sounds like Cher and the album she released in 2002 was called The Minutes. I discovered also that Alison Moyet has done albums of cover songs too and her version of There Are Worse Things I Could Do from Grease is superb

My favorite Yaz/Yazoo song is “State Farm”

My fav Alison Moyet solo song is “Invisible”

Her and Yaz were both underrated
