LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Tori Spelling is following her "Beverly Hills, 90210"
castmate Jennie Garth into the sitcom world.
Spelling is developing a comedy for NBC in which she would star as a publicist at a
big New York firm. As low person on the corporate ladder, however, she gets all the
worst assignments.
(Oddly enough, Garth also plays a publicist on The WB's "What I Like about You.")
The project has received a script commitment from NBC, according to The Hollywood
Reporter. Lawrence Broch ("George Lopez," "Ellen") will write the pilot and
executive produce with Spelling and Gavin Polone, whose NBC-based production
company, Pariah, is backing the show.
Spelling, who played Donna Martin on "90210" for its full 10-season run on FOX, has
taken several comedic roles in the past few years. Her recent credits include "Scary
Movie 2," "Trick" and "Sol Goode."
