Does anyone know if they ever considered a guest spot from Archie or Edith on the Jeffersons? I know George and Louise appeared on a few AITF episodes after they "moved on up" but none of the Bunkers ever came to see them. I think a scene between Archie and Florence would have been hilarious. For some reason, Norman Lear didn't like to cross-pollinate his shows even when it could be warranted, unlike the unwarranted cross-pollinating stunts that the networks do today.

I know-i always wondered that too. Actually Archie and Edith never made a guest appearance on none of the spinoffs. Archie and Edith didn't appear on Maude, Gloria, or the Jeffersons. I guess we will always wonder why that never happened.

I don't remember the event, but I believe it was Lionel's engagement party. Archie and Edith were invited to it. I remember in that episode Archie called George's mother "Mammy" and Mother Jefferson went nuts on Archie. I can't remember if that was an episode of All in the Family or The Jeffersons.

Also, in that episode, Jenny and the Willises were played by different actors. When Lionel and Jenny get married on the Jeffersons, the Bunkers and Stivics weren't there even though they were close friends (with Archie a tongue in cheek close friend of course). Of course they got married when Damon Evans was playing Lionel so a visit from the AITF cast wouldn't have the same impact since Mike Evans was so important as Lionel during the early AITF years.
