Fall is the perfect time of year for Gilmore Girls fans to sit down and binge this praised comfort show, known for having some of the most beautiful New England small-town scenery. Nearly 20 years after its conclusion, the drama-comedy series is still a major hit, fondly remembered for its exploration of mother-daughter relationships. Though Netflix's revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, didn't live up to the expectations of many fans, it resulted in a renewed interest in the series and the potential for it to have a future continuation or spin-off.
With the audience of Gilmore Girls growing every year, viewers have noticed the major issues with the series as much as the best qualities. It has a bad reputation for poorly developing and handling popular side characters, such as making Michel, the only African-American recurring character, the brunt of too many jokes, particularly related to his French origin and accent. One poorly handled character storyline that still haunts viewers is Paris Geller, who had an entertaining and thought-provoking personality that was not highlighted nearly enough.
