Ok Mike Brady was an architect. But he really worked weird hours. It seems like he was home must of the time. The kids probably got home around from school around 3 or 4, and a lot of times he was home already. He was home early in the episodes "The Possible Dream", "Her Sister's Shadow, "Getting Davy Jones"Today I Am A Freshman". Some of the times, you could say it was a legitimate excuse why he came home early. Like in the episode "Is There A Doctor in the House", "The Bradysitters", it was a Friday, and he get tickets for him and Carol to go a show. Or it the episode "Lights Out", when he came early, because Cindy kept him up half the night due to her having nightmares. Also Carol asked him to come home early for the photographers in "Tell It Like It Is Some epsiodes he did work regular hours like in Going, Going Steady, Our Son the Man, The Big Bet, The Fender Benders and Love and the Older Man. He did work late in some of nights, during the "To Move or Not To Move episode, and of course he missed Greg's graduation, from "Westdale High School'. Well actually he refused to be in the episode because he thought the idea of Greg's hair turning orange was so stupid. He did work on Saturday's on the the episode, "Mike's Horrorscope", "The Teter Toter Caper", and "The Snoopstar". Also Mike had a 2 differen't bosses. In the episodes 'Call Me Irresponsible" "Double Parked", and "Coming Out Party, Mr. Phillips was his boss, but in the episode "The Hustler", it was Mr Matthews.

It seems like he worked normal hours because I saw him coming home from work pretty often. And you know he was still working in the last season because of the amusement park episode where he lost the blueprints at the park.

Hmm. Maybe he was laid off for a while when they discovered his alternative-lifestyle preferences, and he was so embarrassed that neither he nor anyone else mentioned it. Maybe he arranged the amusement park trip unnecessarily to prove that, Hey, I'm still working. See?

Well, he started work around the time everyone left for school, which is 8am Im guessing. So 8-4 is 8 hours..so maybe he got out a lil early sometimes...??

Mike did a lot of his work at home. He had a home office there.

Also, architects have the ability of picking up their work and going on location. They spend a lot of time on site, involved in the supervision and control of the actual construction of the building that they have designed.

They also have to do a lot of "footwork" in terms of getting building permits, securing contractors, and undoubtedly numerous other "little" things that I could probably never think of.

So it's probably not all that unusual that Mike would be home a different times of day.

:D
