I don’t think that’s the main reason why she left. Valerie was known for wanting full control of a show. She had it on ‘Rhoda’, she didn’t get it on ‘Valarie’. Could Bateman have been a part of it, maybe. He’s one of the ‘great teen actors’ of all time and still a top talent. He also was known to have trouble with co-star’s and people on sets during this era. The beef between him and Ricky Schroeder was legendary. He also made it seem like verbal abuse was ‘ok’ when Jessica Walter expressed she didn’t like it coming from Jeffery Tambor on ‘Arrested Development’!
