On This Day 47 years ago, Brenda and Benny got engaged! I am honestly so upset that CBS decided to cancel RHODA before we got to see Brenda and Benny's wedding :-(. It would've made for a pretty good finale!

If Rhoda stayed on the air a full season, viewers would have tuned into a story arc leading to Brenda and Benny's wedding. But CBS moved the show to Saturday night opposite the hot new police drama CHIPs and Rhoda's ratings plummeted, resulting in its cancellation in December. It was a sad way to end a sitcom that was a huge hit in its first season.
