Tylor Chase is best known for his role as Martin Qwerly in Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. But last month, an influencer discovered him living on the streets of Los Angeles (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/nickelodeon-neds-declassified-actor-found-homeless-on-the-streets-of-l-a.5996957/). Tylor scored his breakout acting role as Martin, a reoccurring character in Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. The series ran for three seasons, from 2004 to 2007.

A resurfaced video from 2015 shows Tylor sharing a poem about his mental health struggles. He mentioned suffering with bipolar disorder, and the pain he experienced as nobody went to his poetry shows anymore.

Tylor was spotted by influencer LetHallAlli living on the streets and shared a video of it on TikTok, which got millions of views. She then launched a GoFundMe but stopped it after his mum reached out to her and explained his issues with handling money.

“He can’t manage money or his meds by himself,” his mom said. “It could possibly hurt him.”

She added: “He does need medical help.”

After LetHallAlli’s GoFundMe video went viral, Tylor’s situation was brought to the attention of Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee and Lindsey Shaw, who played the three main characters in Ned’s Declassified. In their latest podcast episode (https://open.spotify.com/episode/5XPIt5gwEScISryZ0vrpOg?si=G3M8viJyRS20Z5XnBJbXJg&nd=1&dlsi=4a33561bc8d14936), they said they’re now doing what they can to help their old friend.

For the past century, the dark underbelly of the child acting world has made itself apparent time and time again. Churning out world superstars, that in turn become unrecognizable adults, some successful, others turning towards the street completely alone. Today’s story is so different, because Tylor Chase wasn't switching wigs on Hannah Montana, or singing with Ariana Grande on nickelodeon. Yes he was on Nickelodeon, but he was on the show all of us watched while commercials were on the other networks… I’m talking about Martin more specifically the adorably bubbly actor named Tylor Chase who brought him to life and his dissent into homelessness. No one knew, not his parents, friends or costars, that behind that sweet smile and all those quick quips, was a teenager suffering the debilitating pressures of bipolar. I know there have been other videos made about his story, but this is without a doubt the deepest dive you’re going to find. So join me as I dive into Tylor’s secret YouTube channel and decode some truly heart wrenching videos of Tylor screaming out for help, to an internet full of people who didn’t listen.
