Rory Gilmore, Paris Geller, Lorelai Gilmore and Lane Kim all had very different and yet super relatable arcs on Gilmore Girls. In this compilation, we're diving back into some of our Gilmore Girls character analyses to unpack the high points that made these characters so aspirational and the low points of their stories that we totally empathized with. Paris was an incredibly intense overachieving smart girl, but over time we also got to see her open herself up to new possibilities (without ever giving up what made her Paris!) Rory was the golden child of Stars Hollow, but... this actually led to her having a pretty messed up outlook on life.

While it was definitely a struggle, these things she initially got wrong were actually quite important to her growth journey. Lane had to live a double life, pretending to be the perfect child her mother wanted while hiding the rebellious rocker she was inside. Instead of continuing to explore this, the show instead decided to give her one of the most disappointing endings in the series (but there is one silver lining!) And finally, we take a look at Lorelai, who began the show as an adult but sometimes acted more like a teen than the actual teens. We unpack why her story of having to figure out how to escape her arrested development and grow up as an adult was actually so relatable.
