View Full Version : Anarchy Adele 11-09-2002, 12:32 AM What are 'your' views....? Mossopp 11-09-2002, 07:13 AM You need to be a bit more specific. In what context are you talking about? Do you mean what are our veiws on an anarchic society - mob rule and all that? If that is what you mean then it seems to be a pretty pointless question. Who would actually want to live in a society with no rules or boundaries? It would be hell! Unless that's not what you meant and I'm completely missing the point. Adele 11-09-2002, 12:56 PM Um, well, I suppose that's what I was asking.....but anarchy has nothing to do with death, destruction, and chaos. Of course, it's no wonder that the negative idea of anarchy is so accepted. Authorian figures use all means they have to present anarchy as unthinkable....a state of total choas. Anarchy simply means, 'no government'. Many fear living with no authroity, no power, everyone on an equal level, doing what they please. Why is THAT so scary...so unthinkable? State is what's scary. Without the "ruling class" (and their need to control us), there would be no state. We could totally live together in peace, and organize for our own needs. Jinny Girl 11-09-2002, 01:13 PM if that would work right then it would be great, but to many people would take advantage of no government and do stupid **** so it probably wouldn't work out. it wouldn't be bad tho. the government scares me. Yeah, you do have a point. Exactly. Without law and order, we have no freedom. I don't have a great deal of faith in the British public (and I have even less in America) and if we had no laws or government, chaos would rule. They're would be fighting the the streets, looting, rape..........just total madness. I don't see how anyone can be up for that (unless they are one of the idiots who's gonna be out there, rapeing and pillaging with the rest of 'em). People, in general, are ignorant and stupid. Without laws these ignorant and stupid people would take over. That is one of my biggest fears. ABlairican Pie 11-09-2002, 04:52 PM The problem with anarchy is that a dictator always steps in to fill the vaccuum of no government. It happened with the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and the Third Reich. Actually, those were in states of weak government or societal or economic chaos. But the principle still holds. Titania 11-09-2002, 06:55 PM Personally I think a strong central government is an asset and anarchy would cause a whole lot of problems. Too many lunatics in this country who would take advantage of it. Yeah, if there were anarchy I'd be hiding in my closet. Maybe in a utopia it would be nice- but we have far from that. |
