When it first came out I could never figure out why the movie Babe became a hit family movie or how it became popular? Is it because kids adored animal movies or was it because Babe had a wonderful storyline? Because I remember seeing the trailer for Babe and thought it looked weird. I then read the original novel for a school reading assignment and thought the book was unappealing too. I guess this movie was meant to become popular because there was Babe plushies toys McDonald's Happy Meal toys and even a Babe balloon in the 1997 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And how Babe got a sequel I'll never understand

I saw Babe in the theater with my Sons . It was a really cute movie. Babe / The pig was adorable. :)

Why the main reason why Babe became so popular was because they were planning to release a trilogy of Babe movies and seeing how big a celebrity Babe had become they begun to focus on developing the Babe trilogy and so with the sequel Babe Pig In The City released in 1998 they knew how Babe would become a successful franchise. But even though Babe Pig In The City failed in theaters Babe had still become a celebrity of animal movies

Yeah I was born 90 I was around 4 or 5 when it came out it was not popular in the 90s I saw it in 95 I was just not interested in the movie I remember the popularity of toy story 5 in 1995 I saw it twice at the movies when I was 5 in November and December 95 I think babe is more popular now due to nostalgia as the movie is now 30 years old
