(Setting)
*Takes place right after Delores goes up the stairs with Andrew. The camera zooms in on all the faces of the remaining people who will soon face the same thing. Racheal (Nancy McKeon) sheds a single tear down her left cheek sad that her time was soon approaching, but happy that Delores is now free of pain and going to a better place. The best place.*
Rachel, Seth, Monica, Tes, Larry & his wife, Amy, Carla, Bridget, Corey and Stacey are all still huddled around the table where Delores is. Seth rubs the side of Rachel's shoulder, Larry hugs Amy, and Stacey checks for a pulse on Delores, while everyone else sits there in awe. Seth calls for an ambulance on his cell phone.
Scene fades out.
Larry and his wife, are sitting on the couch in there living room. Amy is sitting on the floor playing Playstation.
Larry: (talking to his wife quietly whose name they never gave lol ) So do you think we should tell Amy about me?
Wife: Don't use the word we. Use the word I. You're the one with the problem, it should be your decision. Whatever you feel is right.
Larry: Well that was insensitive, don't you think? Which is why we don't get along as well as we used to. I mean you make it sound like you want me to go through this alone. (His wife is silent) I mean I just think she should have some advanced notice so I don't drop dead one day and she's like what happened.
Wife: Alright fine. Do whatever you want, ok? I just don't want to scare her that's all.
Larry: Oh Ccome on she's 13. She might not take the news very well but she'll understand. And besides, she needs to know.
Wife: Ok fine. Whatever, Larry.
Larry: Uh Amy can I talk to you for a second?
Amy: Uh sure Dad, go ahead. (Says Amy not turning her head to look at him.)
Larry feeling the stress more now, says:
Larry: Amy can you please just put that thing on pause and come sit over here.
Amy noticing the distress in her fathers voice, agrees.
Amy: Ok dad, (sitting on the couch now) what is it?
Larry: I have something I need to tell you, and I don't know how you're going to take it.
Amy: Oh come on, Dad. How bad can it be?
(says Amy eyeing her Playstation. Larry shuts it off by the remote.)
Larry: Amy, this is serious. Look at me.
Amy with fear in her eyes looks at him.
Amy: Dad....what is it?
Larry: Well you know how I'm not working anymore, right?
Amy: Yeah.
Larry: Well do you know why?
Amy: You said you were laidoff.
Larry: I know that's what I said, but that's not why. It's because I'm suing them.
Amy: For what?
Larry: (Pauses in between words) Because... well... after working for that company all these years I ended up getting aspestis poisioning and it's killing me. I have no idea how much longer I have, Amy. But the Doctor says I probably won't see another Christmas.
Larry's wife covers her mouth and trys to fight back the tears for Amy's sake.
Amy is now as pale as ghost, but trys to keep her composture.
Amy: Well Dad do you know how many times Doctor's have been wrong? You could very easily another few years.
Larry sees how upset his daughter is, as she trys to fight back every tear.
Larry: Amy, you can let yourself cry. It's ok. You don't have to be strong for me.
A tear falls down Amy's cheek.
Oh sweetie come here, says Larry opening his arms to his daughter. She rest her head on his chest.
Amy: I'm sorry Daddy.
Larry: Sorry?! For what?
Amy: I guess this is my punishment.
Larry: Amy, what are you talking about?
Amy: This is my punishment for all those times when I wouldn't do as I was told, and put you down, and I wasn't always the best of daughters. This is all my fault.
Larry: Oh Amy that's rediculous. There was nothing you could have done different to change this, and you know that. Try not to worry, ok? We'll just take this one step at a time.
Amy: (Calming down now) Ok Daddy. I love you.
Larry: I love you too. So much.
