Wasn't Bart 10 and Lisa 8 when it started out? They are on their 13 or 14th season right? So Bart would be either 23 or 24 and Lisa would be 21 or 22.

If they allowed B & L to grow older, it might not have lasted for so long. You know how normal shows do when the kids get older? I'll take LITB for instance, when Beaver was younger the show was so cute. When he got to be 11, 12 and 13 it jumped to me. I just can't stomach the last few years of Beaver.

That's correct, Bart 10 and Lisa 8.
I don't think it would have worked if they had gotten older, but at keeping the characters the same age they still have developed their charecteristics over the years.
