1992 was a wild year for animation. Networks were desperate to find the next big hit, toy companies were pushing stranger and stranger concepts, and prime-time TV wanted its own Simpsons. The result? A lineup of bizarre, ambitious, and often short-lived cartoons.

In this video, we’re taking a look back at ten short-lived cartoons from 1992 — from The Plucky Duck Show and Super Dave: Daredevil for Hire, to cult curiosities like Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, Capitol Critters, and The Adventures of T-Rex.

Some were ahead of their time, some were blatant cash grabs, and some were just plain weird. But together, they tell the story of Saturday mornings in the early ’90s.
