I cannot figure out how The View is still surviving on ABC and how it gets mega ratings is beyond me. Because ever since it's launch in 1997 replacing ABC's Home I think ABC had a plan to create a talk show that geared to people with a mix of various mix of topics and with the original team of the late Barbara Walters Meredith Veira Star Jones and Joy Behar ABC knew that The View would soon grow into a giant ratings hit. But if you watch The View today it's various topic mix format is gone and now it has turned into an entertainment news magazine type show. Because it seems that celebrity interviews seem to get The View monster ratings and anytime a new movie is debuting or a new show or sitcom The View has the main star of the movie show or sitcom and you see stars like Jeremy Renner Jason Bateman Kevin Costner Robert Downey Jr. to Ariana Grande and Ben Affleck and they also do the same thing with music stars who release a new album and with stars like Taylor Swift Billie Ellish Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj The View thinks that celebrity interviews are the way to get monster ratings. And another habit The View has with celebrity interviews is that they sometimes have very long interviews and they should limit them to 20 minutes. An example of this is when Jeremy Renner promoted his new book and they did a long interview with him and the only reason why they did this was to give copies of Jeremy Renner's book to audience members. And when Oscar Issac promoted Moon Knight they did a long interview with him as well. And why I think The View does this is so the celebrity makes sure the movie show or sitcom gets good promotion. But in my eyes it is time for The View to end and what ABC should put in it's timeslot is a daytime game show block full of original game shows because I don't know why The View is still surviving so long and the only reason I think The View is still existing is because ABC wants it to continue because they think The View is strongly holding up in their ratings because a lot of people enjoy talk shows and with an entertainment news magazine format The View will find it's new identity with viewers
