Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Room 222, Odd Couple, and Love American Style. What a great lineup it was. The TV was tuned to ABC for the full evening. And being a school age kid at the time, the best thing about it was, the next day was Saturday and there was no school. Saturday mornings were often spent watching favorite cartoon shows. It was a terrific time that's remembered fondly.

It was just about a perfectly constructed schedule, with the material starting out very innocent then growing more mature as the evening wore on and the kids fell asleep.

Agreed. I usually stayed up for the entire thing and even watched Love American Style. I had planned to buy The Odd Couple DVD's but changed my mind after I found out that episodes are butchered and edited. What a shame.

I remember when n@n and TV Land had a TV Land Time Warp in 1997 that showed the ABC Friday night lineup from 25 years ago. I watched some of it due to me wanting to see the retromercials (I didn’t have TV land back then). I also remember the ads for this Time Warp which had a black background with audio of kids from 1972 being upset that they couldn’t see the rest of the shows and the ad said: “Now you can see what you missed.” See, even in 1997 Part of Tv Lands demo was people in their early 30s.

I also remember my mom (who watched part of the time warp with me) saying she read that the time warp scored (at the time) big ratings at least for Nick at nite. Ironically now, the year 1997 was TWENTY NINE years ago. If a network wanted to do a time warp that focused on the Friday night lineup from 25 years ago, it would be from the year 2000. The last year of ABCs original TGIF which I think wouldn’t be bad

3 of them went on to become syndication perennials, the other 2 not as much.
