2003 was a big year for television, with networks searching for the next 24 or CSI. But not every new drama hit the mark. From reboots like Dragnet to ambitious experiments like Peacemakers and Tremors: The Series, plenty of shows fizzled out after just one season.

In this video, we’re looking back at 10 short-lived drama series from 2003 that failed to survive the year. Some had big stars like Rob Lowe (The Lyon’s Den) and Joe Pantoliano (The Handler), while others tried bold new ideas like Jake 2.0 and Platinum. Whether they were too ahead of their time, too formulaic, or just unlucky, these shows couldn’t hold an audience.

📺 Shows covered in this video:

0:24 Dragnet (ABC)
1:45 The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire (CBS)
2:52 Platinum (UPN)
4:01 The Handler (CBS)
5:02 Tremors: The Series (Sci-Fi)
6:13 Jake 2.0 (UPN)
7:22 Peacemakers (USA)
8:11 10-8: Officers on Duty (ABC)
9:07 The Lyon’s Den (NBC)
10:03 Threat Matrix (ABC)

I watched every episode of The Lyon's Den that aired. I wasn't interested in the others on CBS or ABC, or they were on a network I didn't get at the time like UPN, USA, and Sci-Fi.
