In 1995, the movie Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie was released in theatres. The reason why having “The Movie” added to the title was important would make you question the release date of this movie. It was because from 1993 to 1996, there was a hit TV show running that was titled Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Yes, the same. And the movie, which was made between seasons 2 and 3, had the majority of the same cast and crew working on it. This decision confused a lot of fans at the time, too, and rightfully so. However, now it seems very obvious from a business point of view that the production house and the makers were just trying to leverage on the popularity and the fanbase the TV show had created, and they wanted to use this momentum to take this franchise to the theatres. Because why not?
