View Full Version : 2 years after the reunion
1strunfan 11-06-2002, 05:23 PM Hey guys. I'm totally new to this whole thing. But, I had an idea, and thought I'd give it a try. Let me know what you think.
This story begins 2 years after the Reunion Movie. The girls and Mrs. G are getting together fro Christmas. Ted and Blair are living in the Inn in Peekslill, and still don’t have any kids. Rick and Jo have moved back to Peekskill so Jamie can go to Eastland. Jo is working at the Center, Rick is touring full-time. Tootie has recently gotten married, and just found out she is pregnant, but hasn’t told anyone. She wants it to be a Christmas Suprise. Natalie and her husband are expecting their first child any day now. Natalie is a producer for CNN.
The scene begins in the Inn when Tootie and her husband arrive from New York. Tootie is currently in a play there. Soon after, in come Natalie and her husband. Natalie is looking very pregnant, and very happy. The four start talking as they are checking in. The desk clerk has notified Blair of their arrival, and in comes Blair. Professional and gorgeous as always. The three girls talk as the guys get the luggage up to their rooms.
Blair: I’ll call Jo and tell her you’re here. She’ll be so glad to see you all. Or in Nat’s case, all of you! (The three laugh and Blair calls Jo.)
Natalie: Don’t call Mrs. G. I’d really like to suprise her.
Blair: Sounds good to me (Picks up the phone and calls Jo)
Natalie (to Tootie): I’m going to go on up to our room. I’d like to get in an afternoon nap. The bigger I get, the more tired I get. I’ll see you girls later for dinner.
(Natalie leaves, and Tootie waits for Blair to get off the phone. Blair hangs up the phone.)
Blair: Jo says to tell you hello, and she’ll be here as soon as she can. She’s got some stuff she needs to finish up at the Center, then she’ll be on over.
Tootie: Okay, I can’t wait to see her again. Natalie went on up to her room to get some rest. I think I’ll do the same. Plus, I want to call Tisha and tell her we made it to town. I’ll talk to you later, Blair.
Blair: Okay, I’ll let you know when Jo gets here.
Tootie: Thanks.
(Tootie goes up the stairs to her room, and Blair goes back to her office)
A couple of hours later, Jo arrives. She goes to the front desk, and the clerk recognizes her and calls for Blair. Blair comes out of her office. Jo notices she is looking a little tired/upset. Blair notices Jo standing there, and puts on a smile in hopes that Jo didn’t notice.
Blair: Hello, Jo. How are things at the center? I hope everything is fine. Don’t want anything wrong at the Warner Center, now do we.
Jo: Yeah, everything is great. How are you?
(Jo is hoping Blair will tell her what is wrong.)
Blair: I’m just great as always. Things around here have been a mad house lately. With the holidays, and all. Anyway, I’ll call the girls and tell them you are here.
Jo: That’d be great.
Natalie and Tootie come down the stairs together. Laughing and talking just like old times. They get to the bottom of the stairs where Jo and Blair are waiting.
Jo: Hi guys, how are you doing?
Natalie (smiling): We are doing fine. Getting bigger every day. I can hardly wait until the baby gets here.
Tootie (with a sheepish grin): I am doing just fine.
Jo to Natalie: What is that all about?
Natatlie: I don’t know, Tootie, what is that all about?
Tootie (still smiling): Nothing. I’m just excited about the baby I guess.
Jo: The last couple of weeks are the worst. The waiting is terrible. Maybe we’ll be visiting the hospital soon.
Blair seems more on edge now, and won’t really look at Natalie. Jo notices.
Blair (changing the subject): So, would you girls like to take a ride over to Eastland to catch up with Jamie and Tisha? I’ll show you around. Things have changed alot lately. We are expanding the Science Technologies department. And, adding on to the Library.
Tootie: Sure, I’d love to. (looks at Natalie) Are you feeling up to it?
Shelley 11-06-2002, 05:47 PM It is good. I like it.
JoPol_wannabe 11-07-2002, 02:25 AM I like it so far can't wait to read more
1strunfan 11-07-2002, 09:14 AM Natalie: Sure. I feel fine.
Jo: Are you sure, you don’t have much longer to go. We don’t want to wear you out or anything.
Natalie (half grinning): I’m sure. I don’t need to be babied. I know when I feel okay and when I don’t.
Blair (looking at Jo): Didn’t you hear her Jo, she feels fine. Now, lets go.
Jo gives Blair the what’s you problem look, and they all climb into Jo’s car, and they leave for Eastland. On the way there, Jo, Tootie and Natalie are chatting away. When Jo notices Blair looking out the window, and seems to be in her own world. Jo starts to say something to her, but they arrive at Eastland.
As they pull in, Tisha and Jamie see them and run to meet them.
Jamie: Hi mom, hi everyone.
Tisha: Hi mom, hi everyone.
(They all hug).
Tisha and Jamie are talking at the same time to Natalie and Tootie.
Jo: Girls, slow down. You are going to wear them out before they even get to look around.
Jamie & Tisha: Sorry (they giggle)
Natalie looking at Tootie: I think they both took after Tootie! (everyone laughs)
Tisha: Mom, there is so much I want to show you. Come on! (pulling at Tootie’s arm)
Jamie: Yeah, Aunt Natalie. You are going to love all the changes.
Jo: Wait on a minute, Jamie. Your Aunt Natalie may not feel up to it.
Natalie: Jo, I feel fine. (Looks at Jamie) Lead away girls. Show us what you’ve got.
Blair: I’ve got some stuff to do. I’ll be in the office.
(Jo looks at the girls, and then at Blair walking away.) Jo: I’ll catch up with you girls later, I’ve got something I want to talk to Blair about. Have fun. And, go easy on Natalie, no matter what she says.
Jamie: Okay mom, we will.
Tootie, Natalie, & Tisha: Okay, Bye.
Jo: Hey Blair, wait up. (Blair acts as if she doesn’t hear her, and keeps on walking, with her head down. Jo half jogs to catch up to Blair. When she catches up, she grabs Blair by the shoulder and stops her.)
Jo: Blair, What is wrong?
Blair (looking sad): I don’t know what you mean? Nothing is wrong.
Jo: Look Blair, you never were good at fooling me. You may have fooled everyone else, but I know something is up. Now, what is it?!
Blair (sadly): Nothing, Jo. Just leave me alone, okay. I just have alot on my mind right now. I’ll work it all out.
Jo: Is this about Ted?
Blair: What do you mean?
Jo: I know that Ted has been away quite a bit lately on business. Is everything okay between you to?
Blair: Everything is fine with us, Jo. Just drop it, okay. You wouldn’t understand.
Jo: I will not drop it. I want to know what is wrong.
Blair: Trust me Jo, I’m fine.
(Blair and Jo enter the Admin. Office and are greeted by a group of girls dragging a cardboard chimney and singing Christmas Carols.)
Blair (changing the subject): This year we are putting on an all girl production of “A Christmas Carol”
Jo: I bet it’ll be great. Blair, our conversation is not finished. I’m not through talking to you yet.
Blair: Jo, you better catch up with the other girls. They are probably who knows where by now.
Jo: Okay, bye.
Blair: Bye.
(Blair goes into her office, and Jo leaves to catch up to the others. She finds them on stage in the auditorium. The girls are talking non-stop and Tootie and Natalie are grinning from ear to ear. They all see Jo and wave. Jo walks up onto the stage with them.)
Jo: Hi gang. (Looks at Nat. & Tootie) Are you girls okay?
Tootie: Oh, we are just fine. I just found out that Tisha is going to play the lead in this year’s Christmas Play. (hugs Tisha) But, that is no suprise to me. She is my daughter.
Jo: Hey, that’s great.
Jamie: Mom, I’m playing Scrooge.
Natalie: That is no suprise either, she is Jo’s daughter.
(They all laugh)
Jo: Very funny Nat.
Natalie: I hate to cut this short, but I’m getting a little tired. Do you girls mind if we go back to the Inn? I’d like to get some rest before dinner. And, suprising Mrs. G.
Tootie: Yeah, me too.
Natalie (looking at Jo): Are you sure Beverly Ann knows that this is a suprise?
Jo: Yes, I’m sure. She and I planned the whole thing. Mrs. G. Thinks they are going to the Inn to have dinner with Blair and me and our families.
Tootie: I can hardly wait.
(They all go back to the Inn)
Shelley 11-07-2002, 11:46 AM I like it.
Ryanmo97 11-07-2002, 08:56 PM Very Good. Keep up the good work.
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 11-08-2002, 12:26 AM this is great! I can't wait for more!
JDS84 11-08-2002, 08:01 PM It's good.
Swimfan85 11-09-2002, 07:05 PM awesome add more:)
1strunfan 11-09-2002, 07:47 PM Sorry it's taken so long to add more. My sister had a baby Thursday, so everything has been a little hecktic.
(When they get to the Inn, Natalie and Tootie go upstairs to their rooms, Jo leaves, and Blair goes to her office.)
Blair is in her office by herself. Looks at pictures of Jo and Jamie, and Tootie and Tisha, and Natalie. She gets upset and begins to cry. Just then, the door opens and it is Mrs. Garrett.
Mrs. Garret: Blair, what is wrong?
Blair: (Smiles, and trys to hide the tears.) Nothing, Mrs. Garrett. I was just looking at some pictures, wishing that we could all be together again.
Mrs. G.: I wish we could, too. I really miss all of us being together. Beverly Ann and I were just talking about that earlier today. I guess it’s because at Christmas we all want to be near our families. (smiles a little, and tries to lighten the mood) But, we have you and Jo, and we can get together.
Blair: Yeah, you are right, Mrs. G. Say, what brings you by so early. We aren’t planning to eat until 6:00. Where is Beverly Ann?
Mrs. G.: Beverly Ann is coming later. I came early because I wanted to talk to you about this year’s events. You know, it’s only 2 weeks until Christmas, and we haven’t even talked about decorations, or anything. We need to plan the Christmas Dinner. This is Jo’s first Christmas back with us, and I want it to be special.
Blair: Mrs. G. Relax. Everything will be fine. I thought we would come over tomorrow and decorate. I spoke to Andy, and he said he could make it, and I’m sure Jo can. I’ll have dinner brought in so you won’t have to worry about that. And, I thought we could plan the meal for Christmas. I’d be happy to have it catered.
Mrs. G: No! We can’t have Christmas Dinner Catered! Beverly Ann and I will make it! I won’t have my family eating someone else’s cooking on a holiday. I’d never forgive myself.
Blair: Okay, okay. So, it’s all set, then right. We’ll be over tomorrow night to decorate. And, Christmas dinner will be an Edna Garrett original.
Mrs. G.: I guess so. Say, have you talked to Natalie lately? I haven’t heard a word from her. I’m getting worried, she is so close to her due date. She isn’t working is she? She can’t be. She probably is. No, or course she isn’t.
Blair: Mrs. Garrett. I’m sure Natalie is just fine.
Mrs. G: I tried calling her cell phone, but no one answered. I’ve also called their apartment, and no one was home. I hope nothing is wrong.
Blair: There is nothing to worry about. She promised to keep us posted, and she will. Now, what do you say we go to the Kitchen and see what the Chef is preparing for dinner tonight.
Mrs. G: I guess you’re right. She’ll be fine.
Blair: Of course I’m right. Now, lets go check out the kitchen.
(Blair and Mrs. G leave the office, and go to the kitchen. Soon, Beverly Ann joins them.)
Beverly Ann: Hi girls, what are you doing in here?
Blair: Oh, I just thought I’d let Mrs. G have a look around, and make this evening’s dinner is to her liking.
Mrs. G: Oh Blair (grins)
Beverly Ann: Speaking of dinner, I’m ready to eat. Andy and Jo are out front waiting on us.
Mrs. G: Well, what are we waiting for then. Lets go.
Blair: Lead the way Ladies.
(Out front, Andy and Jo are deep in conversation, and Blair looks a little concerned, but is trying to hide it. Jo and Andy see them walk in.)
Jo: Hey! Are you guys ready to eat? I’m starved.
Blair: Everything is ready. You all go to the dining room, and I’ll tell the waiters we are ready to be served. (Blair looks at Jo and grins)
(Jo, Mrs. G and B.A. walk towards the private dining room. Andy stays with Blair)
B.A.: Andy, are you coming?
Andy: Sure, I just wanted to talk to Blair about something first. We’ll be there in just a minute.
(Blair calls the kitchen and tells them to begin serving in about 15 minutes. Then she rings Tootie’s room.)
Tootie: Hello?
Blair: Hi Tootie. Everthing is all set. We will be waiting on you in the dining room.
Tootie: Okay, I’ll stop by and get Nat. And we’ll be right there.
Blair: Bye, see you in a minute.
Tootie: Sure
(Blair and Tootie hang up, and Blair sees Andy waiting on her.)
Blair: Come on Andy, we don’t want Mrs. G to get suspicious. We better get on in there.
Andy: Blair, are you okay?
Blair: Of course, why wouldn’t I be okay?
Andy: Let’s not play games, Blair. You got quite a blow the other day, how are you doing with the news?
Blair: Fine, just fine. Now, Andy the Dr. Needs to leave, so our Andy can enjoy himself.
Andy: Okay. But, if you need me, you know where I am.
(Andy and Blair walk into the dining room and take their seats. Jo, BA and Mrs. G are all discussing the Christmas Dinner. As soon as Blair and Andy sit down, the door opens again. This time is is Tootie and Natalie.)
Natalie (grinning): Hello, may we join you?
Tootie: Yeah, something smells delicious.
Mrs. G: NATALIE! TOOTIE!
(Mrs. G. Rushes over and they all hug. Blair and Jo look at each other and smile. Natalie and Tootie’s husband’s sit down.)
Mrs. G: How are you? I am so glad to see you! When did you get here? Natalie, are you taking care of yourself? Tootie, how about you, are you eating right?
Natalie: Mrs. G., we are fine.
Tootie: Yeah, we are fine, how are you?
Mrs. G.: I am great, now that my girls are all together again. Can you stay for Christmas?
Natalie: That’s the plan.
Tootie: Yeah, you think we would come home this close to Christmas and NOT stay?
Mrs. G.: I am so happy! My whole family is right here. Well, except for Jamie and Tisha at Eastland and Rick ...Jo, where is Rick?
Jo: Oh, he called earlier, and said he wouldn’t be in until later. He had some things to do.
Jamall (Tootie’s Husband): So Jo, what is the big suprise Rick was telling us about.
Jo: Well, I guess since he isn’t here, I’ll tell you all. Rick has planned a guys ski trip. He knows how we women get just before the holidays. And, he thought it might be nice for us girls to have some time together without the guys.
Jamall: I think that is a great idea. What do you think, honey?
Tootie: I think it sounds great.
Harper: I don’t know. With Natalie pregnant and all, I don’t know if I should go skiing or not. Maybe I should stay close by.
Natalie: Oh, go ahead and go. You guys will have alot of fun, and I’ll be fine. I’m not due for a couple of more weeks, and I’m feeling fine. You should go.
Harper: I don’t know honey.
Natelie: Go!
Andy: I think you should go. I’ll still be around. And, I’ll keep a close eye on her.
Jo: Blair, what about Ted, do you think he’ll go?
Blair: I don’t know. He’ll be back from his business trip tonight, and I’ll ask him. I’m sure he’d love to get the chance to get better acquainted with the guys, and he hasn’t been skiing in quite some time.
Jo: Well, it’s settled then. The guys will leave tomorrow.
(The next day, we see the guys drive away in Rick’s SUV with the girls waving good-bye)
Shelley 11-09-2002, 08:50 PM Awesome.
1strunfan 11-10-2002, 07:03 PM (The next morning, we see Jo at the Center talking with Christy, her employee)
Jo: Hey Christy, how are things going? Are you going to be able to manage without me for a couple of weeks?
Christy: Sure, but I’ve go a little disturbing news.
Jo: Oh, what is it?
Christy: Well, do you remember Amber?
Jo: Sure, Amber the runaway who is pregnant? Is she okay?
Christy: Yeah. Well, she gave birth yesterday. It was a girl. She was fine yesterday, but this morning the hospital called. She disappeared in the night.
Jo: Why did they call here?
Christy: Because this is the phone # and address she gave them.
Jo: Have you seen her?
Christy: No, but Casey has been out looking for her all day. Jo, I’m worried. She doen’t have anyone. No family, and as far as I know, no friends.
Jo: What is the story about the baby’s dad?
Christy: She told me he was shot a couple of months ago in some gang war or something.
Jo: So, what will happen to the baby now?
Christy: Casey says that if no one comes to claim it within 2 weeks, it will have to go to an orphanage, and maybe it will be adopted.
Jo: Well, lets just hope that Casey finds her. (looks at her watch) Listen, I’ve go to go. Keep me posted.
Christy: Okay, we will. Have a good day.
Jo: Okay, bye
(Jo walks out, and goes to Mrs. G’s house. When she gets there, all the other girls are already there. She knocks, and walks on in)
Jo: Hey gang!
Beverly Ann: Hi Jo. How are things with you?
Jo: Fine, where is everyone?
Beverly Ann: Oh, we are all in the kitchen. Edna and I are whipping up some munchies.
Jo: I thought Blair was having food brought over from the Inn?
Beverly Ann: Now Jo, you know Edna and I better than that. It just wouldn’t be right. Someone else doing all the cooking for our girls! We won’t hear of it.
Jo: (smiles) You two never change, do you.
Beverly Ann: Of course not.
(They go to the kitchen with the rest of the girls, and Andy)
Jo: Hey gang. Natalie, how are you feeling today?
Natalie: I’m feeling fine, Jo.
Blair: In case you were wondering, Tootie and I are feeling fine, too.
Tootie: Okay, now that everyone is here, I have just got to tell you all the news.
Mrs. G: (looking confused) What news?
Tootie: Well, I was going to wait until Christmas, but I’ve just got to tell you. I’m pregnant!
Mrs. G: (hugs Tootie) That is great sweetie!
Jo: Congratulations! That is really great news.
Blair: (trying to look excited, hugs Tootie) Yeah Tootie, that is really great.
(Jo and Mrs. G look at each other concerned. They notice Blair’s fake happiness)
BA: (hugs Tootie): Oh, Tootie, I am so happy for you.
Natalie: I’m so excited. Our kids can grow up together! Now, if we can just get Blair in on the act....
Andy: (interrupting Nat.) Well, if you need a Dr., you know where I am.
Tootie: Thanks everyone. Jamall and I are so excited.
(Beverly Ann takes some turnovers out of the oven.)
Beverly Ann: Well, how about we all celebrate with some food.
Nat. And Tootie: We’re in.
Blair: Sure, me too.
Mrs. G: Say, Jo. Would you do me a favor? I’ve got some more decorations in the attic, and I’d like your help. I’ll show you where they are.
Andy: I’ll help aunt Edna.
Mrs. G: That’s okay Andy, you stay here and enjoy one of your mother’s turnovers. Jo and I will handle the decorations.
(Mrs. G and Jo leave and go to the attic)
Jo: So, where are they Mrs. G?
Mrs. G: Jo, I didn’t bring you up here for more decorations. I’m worried about Blair. Does she seem okay to you?
Jo: Actually, no. But then again, she never has.(smiling)
Mrs. G: Jo, I’m serious. I know something is wrong, but she won’t tell me about it.
Mrs. G: Would you try talking to her?
Jo: Well, I’ve noticed the same thing, but she won’t talk to me about it, either. I tried the other day, but she just changed the subject and kept saying that everything is fine.
Mrs. G: I know Blair well enough to know that something is bothering her. I just can’t figure out what it is. I think she’s really hurting. She needs you Jo. I can feel it.
Jo: Well, I guess she’ll tell us when she is ready.
Mrs. G: That’s not good enough Jo! Blair is hurting, and she needs you. Keep at her until she tells you what is wrong. Please. For me....for Blair?
Jo: Okay, Mrs. G. I know what you are saying. I just wish she’d come out and tell me what’s wrong. I don’t really like to force people to open up to me.
Mrs. G: Don’t think of it as forcing her, think of it as allowing her to talk to you.
Jo: Okay. I’ll do what I can. Now, we’d better come down with some decorations, or they are all going to know something is up.
Mrs. G: You’re right. (grabs an old box and hands it to Jo)
(They walk down the stairs and meet the others visiting in the kitchen. Except for Blair)
Jo: Hey. Where is Blair?
Natalie: She’s outside. She said she wanted to check on the layout of the lights or something. You know how she is. (the girls laugh)
Tootie: We sure do. Everything has to be perfect. Just look at her.
Nat: Her whole life is perfect. Her husband, her money, her wardrobe, everything. I guess she figures why stop there? Why not Mrs. G’s christmas lights?
Beverly Ann: Yeah, don’t we all wish we were a little more like Blair?
Mrs. G: I always have.
( The girls all laugh, then start remeniscing about how the time the girls went to the beauty salon in the City, and Jo ended up looking like Blair. Suddenly, Natalie grabs her stomach and looks a little sick)
Andy: Nat. Are you okay?
Nat: I don’t think so, Andy. I just had a sharp pain.
Andy: Just calm down, everything will be fine. (looks at Jo) Help me get her into the living room. Maybe she just needs to lie down. (Jo and Andy help Natalie into the living room. Natalie lies down, but doesn’t feel any better.)
Mrs. G: Natalie, everything is going to be fine. I’ll fix some cocoa.
Nat: Andy, this isn’t helping.
Andy: Okay, lets go ahead and take you down to my office, and I’ll examine you.
Beverly Ann: Isn’t it nice to have a Dr. In the family.
(Natalie has another pain, and Andy looks at his watch)
Andy: On second thought, lets get you on to the hospital. (again, looks at Jo) Lets help her into my car.
Tootie: I’m coming with you.
Mrs. G and BA: We are too.
Natalie: Someone call Harper!
(They get Natalie into the car and everyone except Jo climbs in.)
Jo: I’ll get Blair, and we’ll meet you there.
( Jo finds Blair sitting on a bench next to a tree in the back yard. She looks like she has been crying.)
Jo: Come on Blair, we have to go to the Hospital. I think Natalie is in labor. Andy and the others are taking her down there now.
Blair: Okay, let me grab my purse.
(Jo and Blair get in Blair’s car and follow the others to the hospital. )
Jo: Blair, are you okay?
Blair: Sure Jo.
Jo: Let’s just quit playing this game, okay. Just tell me what is wrong.
Blair: Well, okay. Natalie is in labor, and we are trying to get to the hospital.
Jo: That’s not what I’m talking about Blair, and you know it.
Blair: Jo, don’t you think someone needs to be calling Harper?
Jo: Oh yeah, I better do that. (looks at Blair) This conversation isn’t finished, though.
(Jo dials Rick’s cell phone)
Jo: Come on Rick, answer.
Rick: Hello?
Jo: Rick, is Harper there?
Rick: Sure, he’s right here.
Jo: Okay, tell him Nat. May be in labor. We are taking her to the hospital right now. He needs to come back home.
Rick: That’s impossible, Jo.
Jo: No, Rick. I’m serious. He has to come back, NOW.
Rick: No, he can’t. Haven’t you watched the weather? There has been a huge snow storm up here. We just made it in before it hit. It is a white-out outside. All the roads are closed. There is no way he’ll make it back.
Jo: Okay. Well, tell him what is going on. And try to leave as soon as possible.
Rick: Okay, I will. Talk to you later honey. I love you.
Jo: Bye. I love you too.
( Jo and Rick hang up, just as they are all arriving at the hospital.)

1strunfan 11-11-2002, 02:43 PM Here is a little more. Sorry this seems to be dragging. I just want everything to flow together.
(When they get to the hospital, Tootie goes in and gets a wheelchair, and Jo and Andy help Natalie into it. Tootie wheels her in with Mrs. G and Beverly Ann right behind her. Andy leaves to park his car, and Jo starts to get back in the car with Blair to go park it)
Blair: Jo, go on in. I’ll park the car and come on up.
Jo: Okay, see you in a minute.
(Blair parks the car, but instead of rushing out, she sits there a minute fixing her makeup. When she is finished, she looks in the mirror)
Blair: Okay Blair, this is it. You have to go in there and act like everything is fine. Natalie has been a good friend for a long time, and you can’t let her down. Just be your usual perfect self.
(Blair gets out of the car and walks into the hospital. She goes to the 2nd floor and meets Tootie, Mrs. G, Beverly Ann and Jo in the Maternity Waiting room.)
Blair: Do we know anything yet?
Tootie: No, Andy took her back to a room a few minutes ago, but we haven’t heard anything yet.
Blair: Jo, did you tell them about Harper?
Jo: Yeah. But, we didn’t tell Nat. I think we should wait until we find out if this is really it or not.
Mrs. G: I think that’s a good idea. We don’t want to upset her right now.
Beverly Ann: No, we don’t in fact, I wish you hadn’t told me.
(the girls laugh)
(Andy walks into the waiting room)
Andy: Well, here is the news. She is dialated to a 2. Which, normally we wouldn’t keep her, but with her having contractions, we are keeping her for observation. The contractions are irradic right now, so we don’t know exactly what is going on. We are just going to monitor her and the baby and see where this goes. It might be a long wait. You can go back and see her now, if you want. But, only 1 or 2 at a time.
BA: Okay honey, thanks. Are you going to be her doctor?
Andy: Of course. Do you think I’d leave Natalie to someone else? (grins)
Mrs. G: Good, You take good care of her.
(Andy leaves)
Jo: I think Mrs. G and Tootie should go first.
Tootie: I’ll let Mrs. G.
Mrs G: No, Tootie, I think it should be you.
Tootie: No, I insist.
Mrs. G: Are you sure?
Jo: Why don’t you both go. Andy said 1 or 2. You can both go, we’ll just take turns.
Mrs. G: Okay, we won’t stay long (they leave and goes to see Natalie)
(In Natalie’s room)
Nat: Hi Mrs G., Hi Tootie.
Mrs. G: Hi Natalie. Are you okay? Have they told you anything.
Tootie: Are you feeling okay? Can we get you anything?
Nat: I’m okay for now. Just having you here helps.
Tootie: That is so sweet.
(Back in the waiting room)
BA: Say, girls, why don’t we go down to the nursery and look at the newborns?
Jo: That sounds like a great idea. That’ll kill some time. Plus, I think one of the girls from the center came here and had a baby. I’d like to check up on it.
Blair: Oh, that’s okay. You girls can go. I think I’ll just stay here and read a magazine or something.
BA: Don’t be silly Blair, that magazine is 2 months old, and the babies are brand new. Come on.
(Beverly Ann and Jo leave the room, Blair reluctantly gets up and follows. They walk to the nursery and Jo and Beverly Ann admire the newborns. Blair acts like she wants to look, but can’t.)
Blair: Hey you guys, I’m getting a little thirsty. I think I’ll go get something to drink. I won’t be too long.
Jo: Okay. Do you want me to come with you?
Blair: No, that’s okay. You stay here and watch the babies.
BA: Bye Blair.
(Just moments after Blair walks away, Andy walks up)
Andy: Hi ladies.
BA: Hi honey. How is Natalie?
Andy: She’s doing fine. The contractions are settling down a little, but getting more uniform. I think this might be the day.
Jo: Hey that’s great.
Andy: I wanted to tell you. I spoke with some of the nurses, and we’ve decided to let 3 of you in her room at a time. So, one of you can go on back with Aunt Edna and Tootie.
BA: You go on Jo.
Jo: No, Beverly Ann, you go. I want to talk to Andy for a minute, then I think I’ll go find Blair and tell her the news.
BA: Okay, if you’re sure.
(Beverly Ann leaves and Jo and Andy are left in the hallway in front of the nursery)
Andy: Did you need something Jo?
Jo: I wanted to talk to you about a baby that was born here yesterday. It was a girl, born to a young runaway.
Andy: Oh yeah, I think the girls’s name was Amber.
Jo: That’s the one. How is the baby?
Andy: Fine. I just hope they can find Amber. She needs medical attention, and if she doesn't come back for the baby soon, she'll be charged with Abandonment.
Jo: I hope they find her.
(intercom: Dr. Andrew Stickle please report to the nurse’s station.)
Andy: That’s me. I guess I better go.
Jo: Yeah. I’m going to go find Blair.
(They both leave, in opposite directions. Jo looks in the cafeteria, but doesn’t find Blair. Then looks outside, and finds her sitting at a small table by herself looking very lonely and upset. Jo walks up and sits in a chair in front of her. She sees that Blair has been crying, again.)
Shelley 11-11-2002, 03:20 PM Great.
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 11-11-2002, 04:13 PM Ah!*gasp* you can't leave us there! lol...this is terrific!! POst more soon, please!!!:):)
1strunfan 11-11-2002, 06:15 PM Jo: Blair, are you okay.
Blair: Sure.
Jo: I think it’s time we had a talk.
Blair:Okay, about what?
Jo: You tell me. What is wrong?
Blair: Nothing I can’t handle on my own.
(Jo scoots her chair infront of Blair’s so their knees are almost touching)
Jo: Listen, Blair. I want to say something to you. I’m not very good at expressing my feelings, and I’m also not very good with beating around the bush. So, here goes.
Blair: Jo...
Jo: Blair, please don’t interrupt me. I need to say this. ( Jo looks down at the ground and begins )You are my very best friend. The truth is, I don’t remember when we weren’t best friends. And I don’t know if I have ever told you this before. But ....I love you. More than you know. And, if something is hurting you, it is hurting me. I don’t know what is wrong, but I’m not going to let you go through it alone. That is what friends are for. Someone once told me that a friend does nice things for a friend, and the other friend lets her. Now it’s my turn. I want to be here for you. But, you have to let me. So, I’m not leaving you alone until you tell me what is wrong. I want you to know, whenever you need somebody, a friend to lean on, with a shoulder to cry on, I will be that friend. (Jo looks at Blair, and Blair is sobbing with her head in her hands. Jo leans forward, and puts her arm on Blair’s back, and her face right next to Blair’s)
Jo (crying): So, are you going to tell me what is wrong, or are we just going to sit here and cry all day?
(Blair sits up on the edge of her seat, and they hug. Then they sit up and both try to wipe away tears.)
Blair: Oh Jo, I don’t know where to start. I’m sorry about all this.
Jo: Blair, there is nothing to be sorry about, just start from the beginning, and tell me what is wrong.
Blair: Okay. But, I don’t know how to put this. Jo....I can’t have kids.
Jo: What do you mean?
Blair: I mean, I’m never going to be a mother. I’m never going to experience pregnancy or giving birth or potty training or anything. (she begins to cry again) Ted and I have been trying for the last 2 years, and nothing is working. I’ve taken the fertility drugs, had tests, procedures, and the answer is no. I can’t have any kids.
Jo: I had no idea, why didn’t you tell us?
Blair: I don’t know, I just felt like once I said it out loud, it would mean it is really true. I know that sounds silly, but as long as I never admitted it, I still had hope.
Jo: Blair, you can still have hope.
Blair: (wiping away tears) No, Jo, I can’t. Andy told me the other day, just before the girls arrived. I can never have kids.
Jo: I don’t know what to say, Blair. I’m sorry.
Blair: (grins sadly) Isn’t life funny, Jo. I’ve always had a pretty perfect life. I have always gotten every thing I wanted. Clothes, cars, jewelry, everything. But, none of that means anything to me now. The only thing that matters to me now is a baby. I want one more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my life. I ache for one deep down inside. It is a pain I can’t even put into words. I just don’t understand, Jo. I mean, I have a wonderful life to give a child. Ted and I are happily married, have time and money to give a child, not to mention all the love in the world, and we can’t get pregnant. It is just not fair. (begins crying again)(Jo hugs her)
Jo: Something will work out. Have you thought about adoption?
Blair: Andy suggested that, but it’s highly unlikely. People don’t put their babies up for adoption like they used to. You almost have to know someone that is going to have one up for adoption before the baby is born. There is a waiting list for babies a mile long. Some couples have been waiting for years. I can’t go through that. This last 2 years have been nightmare enough. The constant waiting and hoping just to be let down again. Month after month. I’m just going to have to face the facts. I’m not going to be a mother. I probably wouldn’t be a good one anyway.
Jo: Come on Blair, don’t give up just yet. And, don’t say that. You would be a great mother.
(Blair sees Mrs. G coming through the cafeteria looking for them)
Blair (wipes away tears): Here comes Mrs. Garrett. Please don’t tell her, Jo.
Jo: Okay, it’s your call. But I know she’d want to know.
Blair: I’ll tell her, but just not now.
Jo: It’s up to you.
(Mrs. G. Walks over to the girls)
Mrs. G: Are you girls okay?
Jo: Sure, Mrs. G. We are fine.
Blair: Yeah, fine. How is Natalie?
Mrs. G: Oh, she’s doing okay. The contractions are getting stronger, and closer. Andy is with her now. Tootie and Beverly Ann are waiting for us in the waiting room. You girls had better get inside it’s getting cold out here. And, it’s your turn to go in. Jo, have you heard from the guys?
Jo: No, but I’ll call Rick now and check on them.
(Jo phones Rick)
Rick: Hello?
Jo: Hi honey, how are things?
Rick: Looking up, actually. The storm went over faster than they expected. They are sending snow plow trucks to clear the roads. We are going to try and follow one out of here.
Jo: That would be great.
Harper: Is that Jo? Ask her how Natalie is.
Rick: How is Natalie?
Jo: She is doing fine. But, the contractions are getting closer and harder. When do you think you can be back?
Rick: We should be there by morning, anyway. It’s already getting dark and it’s going to be slow going.
Jo: Okay. I’ve got another call, gotta go.
Rick: Bye, I love you.
Jo: I love too. Bye.
(Jo hangs up and answers the other call.)
Jo/Blair_fan 11-11-2002, 06:15 PM I KNEW IT!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!!! I knew blair couldnt have kids! yay i'm right!

Rebel Queen 1980 11-11-2002, 11:00 PM Please post more!
1strunfan 11-12-2002, 01:37 PM Jo: Hello?
Casey: Hey Jo, It’s Casey. I just wanted to tell you, we found Amber.
Jo: Can you hold on a minute. (turns to Mrs. G and Blair) You two go on up, I’ll be there pretty soon. But, the guys won’t be back until morning.
(Blair and Mrs. G leave, and Jo continues with her phone call)
Jo: That’s great. What’s the story with her? Where did you find her?
Casey: Well, she came by the center today. I talked to her, and she’s going to live with her Grandmother.
Jo: I am so glad. What about the baby?
Casey: She is going to put it up for adoption. She knows she can’t care for it, and her Grandmother it too old and has too many other things to worry about. They are going to the hospital tomorrow to sign papers.
Jo: Are you sure?
Casey: Yeah, that’s what she told me. Why?
Jo: Oh, no reason. I’m just glad things are working out for her. I’ve got to go, I’m at the hospital with Nat. She’s about to have her baby. I’ll call you later.
Casey: Bye.
Jo: Bye
(Jo hangs up the phone and smiles to herself, then quickly dials the phone.)
(Blair and Mrs. G are just now reaching the waiting room where Tootie and Beverly Ann are waiting.)
Tootie: Blair, where have you been? Where is Jo?
Blair: We went to the cafeteria for a while. Jo is on her way up now, she got a phone call.
Mrs G: How is Natalie?
Tootie: She is doing as well as can be expected. (looking at Blair) Have you heard from the guys?
Blair: Jo just talked to Rick. He thinks they will be here by morning.
Tootie (a little frantic): Morning! That isn’t good enough. Nat is asking for Harper. What are we going to do? Who is going to tell her? What about the baby?
(Jo walks in)
Jo: Tootie, calm down. I’ll go tell her. Everything will be fine.
Mrs. G: You’re right, Jo. We are all here, she isn’t exactly alone. One of us needs to offer to stay with her for the delivery.
Beverly Ann: I’d love to, since I never got to experience it for myself. But, I don’t think I’d be good in there. All the excitement. I’d be too frazzled to help her.
Mrs. G: Well, probably not me, either. I can’t stand to see her in that much pain. (Looks at Tootie, Jo, and Blair) I guess it’s up to the three of you to see her through this.
Jo: Well, let’s let Natalie decide who stays. Anyway, we need to go tell her Harper won’t be here. Come on Tootie.
Tootie: Okay, let’s get this over with. Are you coming, Blair.
Blair: Sure.
Jo: Are you sure, Blair?
Blair: Of course, Natalie needs us, and we need to be there.
(Jo gives Blair a reassuring smile and the three of them go into Natalie’s room. As they get there, Andy is just leaving.)
Andy: Well, she is at an 8, and going fast. So, if Harper is going to be with her through this, he better get here soon.
Jo: Actually, he isn’t going to make it back until morning.
Andy: Someone better tell Nat that, she’s been asking for him.
Jo: That’s what we are doing right now.
(Andy leaves and the girls go into Nat’s room)
Natalie: Harper, where is Harper?
Jo: Well, he’s on his way home, but there’s been a big snow storm, and they probably won’t be here until morning. I’m sorry.
Natalie: What am I going to do? I can’t have this baby alone!
Tootie: Nat, you aren’t alone. We are here, and any of us would be happy to be here with you.
Natalie: Thanks, Tootie.(having another pain) Get Andy, I think this is it!
Tootie: I’ll get him (rushes out of the room)
Natalie: Will you all stay with me? I can’t choose between you, I need you all!
Jo: Sure, Nat. You know we’re here for you.
Blair: You bet. We won’t let you do this alone.
(Andy and Tootie walk back in with 2 nurses.)
Andy: Shut that door. The baby is coming, NOW.
(Tootie goes beside Natalie and holds her hand. Jo and Blair look at each other)
Jo: (whispers) Are you going to be okay with this?
Blair: (whispers) I guess I have to be. I won’t leave Natalie now.
(Jo grabs Blair’s hand, and they go stand behind Tootie. Minutes later, we hear the cry of a baby. Andy hands the baby to the nurses and looks at Natalie.)
Andy: Well Nat, you have a beautiful baby boy. Congratulations!
(Natalie, Tootie, Jo and Blair are all crying, while Andy is finishing up with Natalie, the other girls hug. Then, the nurse brings the baby over and lays him on Natalie’s stomach. )
Nurse: He is 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and is 19 ½ inches long.
Andy: I’ll go get Aunt Edna and Mom.
(Then Andy and the nurses leave, and the girls stop crying.)
Natalie: He is so perfect.
Tootie: He sure is Nat, good job. Can I hold him?
(Tootie takes the baby from Natalie)
Jo: What are you going to name him?
Natalie: I don’t know. I thought he was a she, (looks at Tootie) and we were going to call her Tootie.
Tootie: Oh, Nat. How sweet!(Tootie passes the baby to Jo and she gives Natalie a hug)
Jo: Well, I don’t think Tootie a good name for a boy. Any other ideas?
Tootie: Jo, pass him on to Blair. She wants to hold him, too.
(Jo looks at Blair with a concerned look, then passes the baby to Blair, she begins to cry again)
Jo: Do you want to hold him?
Blair: (taking the baby): Of course, do you think that Aunt Blair would pass up an opportunity like that?
(Then, Mrs. G, Beverly Ann, & Andy come into the room. Blair hands the baby to Mrs. G. And they all start talking at once about how cute and perfect he is. And how big)
Jo: I think I’ll go call Jamie and Tisha. I’m sure they’ll want to know. Nat, do you want me to call Harper’s cell phone for you?
Natalie: No, I’ll do it.(she calls Harper and tells him the good news. Jo walks out)
Blair: I think I’ll go with Jo.
(Blair walks out, Andy follows)
Andy: Blair, are you okay? Considering what you’ve been through lately, I’m suprised you handled it that well.
Blair: Well Andy, Natalie needed me. Besides, (she tears up) that is probably the only time I’ll ever get to experience anything like that.(She puts her head down and walks away.)
(Andy goes back to Nat’s room and Blair goes back to the waiting room, where Jo is calling the girls. Jo tells the girls and hangs up the phone just as Blair walks in)
Jo: Blair, are you okay?
Blair: Yeah. I’m fine.
Jo: I didn’t know if you’d want to hold him or not. I’m sorry if handing him to you upset you. I didn’t know what to do.
Blair: It’s funny, Jo. On one hand I want nothing more than to hold a baby close and feel it’s soft skin on mine, to hear it’s shallow breath , and to smell it’s sweet aroma. But, on the other hand, the thoughts of it hurts me so badly I can hardly stand it. Knowing that it will always be someone else’s and never mine. (she begins to cry, but this time tries to hold it in)
Jo: (looks at her wet eyes and sees the pain she is feeling) Oh, Blair ( hugs her).
(Just then, Tootie walks in and they wipe away the tears)
Tootie: Are you two okay?
Jo: Fine, Tootie.
Tootie: Come on, they are putting Nat in a room now. They have put the baby in the nursery.
Blair: Lead they way, Tootie. (the three of them go to Natalie’s room where Mrs. G and Beverly Ann are waiting)
Mrs. G: I think we better be leaving now, don’t you girls? Natalie needs her rest. We can come back first thing in the morning.
Jo: Yeah, we better leave her alone. We’ll see you in the morning, okay Nat.
Natalie: Okay. Hey guys, thanks for being here with me.
Tootie: We wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
JoPol_wannabe 11-12-2002, 02:22 PM This is soooooo good please post more soon
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 11-12-2002, 07:12 PM Great!!
1strunfan 11-12-2002, 07:59 PM (They leave and Natalie goes to sleep. They first take Mrs. G and Beverly Ann to their house, and the others go back to the the Inn.)
Jo: I’ll see you girls in the morning.
Blair: Jo, it’s pretty late, why don’t you stay here tonight.
Tootie: Yeah, Jo. We could have a sleep over, sort of. Except, we’ll all have our own rooms.
Jo: I guess that’d be okay.
Tootie: See you girls in the morning (goes up stairs)
(Blair goes to the front desk and tries to get a room for Jo. Only to find out that there are no rooms available.)
Blair: Bad news, Jo. There aren’t any rooms. I guess the snow storm that the guys ran into has caused alot of people to stop here for the night.
Jo: No problem, I’ll just head on home.
Blair: You know, you could share my suite. Lord knows it’s big enough. We even have a guest room. And, it’s not like we haven’t been roomates before. It’ll kind of be like old times.
Jo: Sounds good to me.
(Jo and Blair go upstairs)
(The next morning, Jo gets up and goes home really early, but leaves Blair a note. She had something to take care of at the Center. She’ll meet them at the hospital. Just as Blair was about to leave to meet Tootie at the front desk, in walks Ted.)
Blair: Hi, Honey! (gives him a big hug and kiss)
Ted: Did you miss me?
Blair: Of course I did.
Ted: How are you doing with Natalie’s new baby and everything.
Blair: Well, I think I’m fine. It was pretty hard, but I managed. I told Jo, and we talked about everything. It really helped.
Ted: You are really lucky to have a friend like her.
Blair: I know.
Ted: You know, I’m always here too, but it is just different. Women sometimes need to talk to another women about things.
Blair: Yeah, and I’m so thankful that I have Jo. And, the others. I think I’ll tell Mrs. G today. I have a feeling she knows something is up. She could always read me like a book.
Ted: You do whatever you feel like you have to honey. I’m with you all the way. (They hug, then Blair looks at her watch)
Blair: I’m going to the hospital to see Nat, do you want to come?
Ted: No, I think I’ll crash here. It was a pretty long night coming back. I think I’ll just stay here and catch up on some sleep.
Blair: So, where is Harper?
Ted: We dropped him off at the hospital.
Blair: Good, well, I’ll see you later. I better meet Tootie and go on over to the hospital.
Ted: Bye honey. (they hug and kiss)
(Blair leaves and meets Tootie downstairs at the front desk)
Tootie: Hi Blair. Are you ready to go to the hospital?
Blair: Sure, Tootie. Have you talked to Mrs. G today?
Tootie: No, why?
Blair: I was just wondering if she would be going to the hospital or not. Well, I guess we’ll see when we get there.
(Blair and Tootie leave and go to the hospital.) ( As soon as Blair left the Inn, Ted left and met Jo at the his office.)
Jo: Ted, I’m so glad you could make it.
Ted: Of course I could, when it comes to the woman I love, I’ll do anything.
Jo: Ted, how sweet.
( They smile and hug.)
(Blair and Tootie are just now arriving at the hospital. When they get there, she has to stop and look at the babies in the nursery. Blair pretends to look, but doesn’t. Finally, they get to Natalie’s room Mrs. G and Beverly Ann are already there. )
Mrs. G: Girls, Hi.
Blair & Tootie: Hi
Beverly Ann: Where is the other muskateer?
Blair: I think she said something about having to go to the center. She thinks that place will fall apart without her. Nat, Ted sends his best. He was too tired to come over. He said he wanted to stay in and sleep all day.
Mrs. G: I don’t blame him. They had a long night. Harper looked terrible.
Tootie: Where is Harper?
Natalie: Oh, you just missed him. I sent him back to the Inn to sleep. He is so tired.
Mrs. G: He needs to get some rest. Lord knows when the baby goes home, he won’t be getting much then.
Beverly Ann: Speaking of the baby, where is he?
Natalie: He’s in the nursery. I’ll call and have them bring him in.
Blair: Oh, don’t do that on our account. I mean, I’m sure you are tired.
Tootie: Don’t be silly, Blair. (gives Blair a crazy look, then turns to Natalie and smiles) Of course, Nat. Have them bring him back in. We can’t wait to hold him.
Beverly Ann: Yes, please do. I haven’t held a baby in so long. Don’t you just love holding the little darlings!
Mrs. G: Oh, everyone loves to hold babies. They are so cute, and cuddley
Tootie: And soft, and sweet, and they smell to good (just then, they bring in the baby)
Blair: (musters a smile) Hey guys, how about I go get us all some coffee?
Natalie: (smiles as she sees her baby brought in) None for me, Blair.
Tootie: Me either. I’m going to have my hands full with the baby. (she picks him up and smiles at him)
Beverly Ann: Now Tootie, you have to share him.(B.A. stands next to Tootie and makes soft noises to the baby)
Blair: (looking away) How about you, Mrs. Garrett?
Mrs. G.: I’d love some, but I think I’ll come with you. The baby seems to be taken for now. (smiles) We’ll be right back. And Tootie, be prepared to give him up.
(Blair and Mrs.G. leave and walk downstairs to the cafeteria. After getting their coffee, they sit at a corner table Blair faces outside, and Mrs. G is facing the cafeteria door.)

I agree.

1strunfan 11-13-2002, 10:33 AM I think I'll leave it at that. You all can figure out the rest.
1strunfan 11-13-2002, 10:34 AM Just kidding!
Blair: Fine, Mrs. Garrett, why do you ask?
Mrs. G: Oh, I don’t know. (she takes Blair’s hands) You just seem like you have alot on your mind lately. Is something bothering you ?
Blair: (trying to keep her composure) Actually, there is. (tears well in her eyes and slide down her cheeks) I have something I have to tell you.
Mrs. G: (tears fill her eyes) What is it, Blair? Are you okay?
Blair: I don’t know exactly how to say this.
Mrs. G: You know you can tell me anything. Just take your time.
Blair: I, I,. (she begins to cry a little harder now.) can’t have children. We’ve tried everything, and we just can’t. (Blair puts her head down. Mrs. G gets up and moves her chair right next to Blair, then puts her arm around her and hugs her. Then strokes her hair while she talks. They are both crying.)
Mrs. G: Oh Blair, why didn’t you tell me?
Blair: I don’t know. I just thought I should keep it to myself. You know, be adult and deal with things on my own and not drag my friends into it. This was hard enough for me to deal with. I didn’t want anyone else to have to deal with it.
Mrs. G: You should know by now that we all love you. We WANT to know when something is wrong. We can’t help you through something we don’t know you are going through.
Blair: I know. I’m sorry.(they wipe the tears away)
Mrs G: Did you tell Jo yet?
Blair: Yeah, we talked about it yesterday.
Mrs G: And do you feel better now?
Blair: I guess so. I was doing so well until I saw Natalie and then the baby was born and everything.
Mrs. G: That must have been awful for you.
Blair: Please don’t tell Natalie. I don’t want to spoil this time for her. Don’t tell Tootie either. You know she can’t keep a secret. (smiles)
Mrs. G: (smiles) She never could. But, I think you should tell them. They are your friends, too. They would want to know.
Blair: Okay. But, not right now. Let Natalie have this time first.
(the phone rings)
Blair: Hello?
Casey: Blair?
Blair: Yes.
Casey: Is Jo there? I called her cell phone, but didn’t get an answer.
Blair: No, she’s down at the Center. You might try calling her there.
Casey: No she isn’t, I’m at the Center.
Blair: That’s funny. Maybe you just missed her. I’m sure she said she was going down there.
Casey: Blair, I’ve been here all day, and she hasn’t been in.
Blair: Have you called her house?
Casey: Of course I have. Rick said she said something about going to the hospital.
Blair: I don’t know. If I see her, I’ll tell her to call you.
Casey: Okay. Talk to you later. Bye
Blair: (looking puzzled) Bye.
(Hangs up the phone.)
Mrs. G: Who was that? Is everything okay.
Blair: Have you talked to Jo today?
Mrs. G: No, I thought you said she was going to the Center.
Blair: That was Casey, he said she never showed.
Mrs. G: I hope everything is okay.
Blair: (mustering a smile) I’m sure it is. She probably just had some errands to do, or something.
Mrs. G: I think I’ll go back up now, do you want to come?
Blair: I’ll be up later, I have some calls to make.
Mrs. G: Okay, see you soon then. Are you sure you’re okay.
Blair: Yes, I’m sure. Now, go hold that baby.
(Mrs. G leaves and goes back to Natalie’s room. Then Blair calls the Inn)
Front Desk: Hello, The Peekskill Inn.
Blair: This is Mrs. Warner, has Jo Bonner been in today?
Front Desk: No, she hasn’t been in yet.
Blair: Okay, then ring my room, I’d like to speak to Mr. Warner.
Front Desk: I’m sorry, Ma’am. Mr. Warner isn’t in, he left quite some time ago.
Blair: Did he say where he was going?
Front Desk: No Ma’am, he didn’t.
Blair: Okay, thanks. Bye.
(They hang up, and she dials Ted’s phone)
Ted: Hello?
Blair: (hears Jo talking in the background) Hi honey, how are you?
Ted: I’m fine, how are you ?
Blair: Ted, where are you, I thought that you were sleeping in today?
Ted: I was, but something came up. I had to come in to the office. I’m leaving to go back home now.
Jo: (whispers) Bye Ted, I’ll talk to you later.
Ted: (holding his hand over the phone) Bye.
Ted (back to Blair) Did you need something?
Blair: Who was that?
Ted: No one, honey. Just a client.
Blair: It sounded like Jo, you haven’t seen her today, have you?
Ted: (voice sounds nervous) Why no, I haven’t. Listen, honey. I’m beat. I’m going to head back home, now.
Blair: Okay, bye.
Ted: Bye, I love you.
(They hang up the phone and Blair looks somewhat upset. She regains her composure and goes back to Natalie’s room)
Ryanmo97 11-13-2002, 03:59 PM OOOH this is getting good. BTW, Blair's husband's name is Tad, not Ted.
1strunfan 11-13-2002, 05:22 PM Sorry, by bad. Thanks for the info.
MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 11-13-2002, 05:54 PM I was wondering abouyt that Tad thing...lol..anyways, this is really great!!!!
Shelley 11-13-2002, 08:31 PM great.
1strunfan 11-14-2002, 11:32 AM Blair: Hi, sorry it took so long.
Natalie: That’s okay. The baby was taken anyway. (smiling) Would you like to hold him now?
Blair: (trying to smile) Sure, I’d love to. (takes him from Mrs. G)
Tootie: So, what are you going to name him, Nat?
(Mrs. G walks over and takes the baby back from Blair, Blair mouths “thank you”)
Mrs. G :Yes, what are you going to name him?
Natalie: We’ve decided on: James Thomas
Beverly Ann: That is a lovely name, Natalie.
Blair: Yes, it sounds very professional.
Natalie: We are calling him JT for short.
Mrs. G: Sounds good to me. (looking at the baby smiling)
(Jo walks into the room)
Jo: Hi everyone. Hey Nat, how are you doing? (walks over and gives Nat. a hug)
Natalie: Oh, fine, Jo.
Blair: So, Jo. How was the Center?
Jo: Fine, just like always. (Mrs. G and Blair exchange glances)
Mrs. G: Jo, Casey called, and said you hadn’t been there.
Jo: (a little suprised) Oh, you thought I went to the Center. I went to the shopping center. You know, to get the baby something.
Blair: (snidely) You, shopping, alone?
Jo: I’ve done it before, Blair.
Mrs. G: (changing the subject) Jo, they decided to name the baby James Thomas.
Tootie: Yeah, but we are calling him JT.
Jo: Good name, Nat.
Natalie: Thanks.
Blair: Well, I better be going. Do you need a ride, Tootie?
Tootie: Are you kidding? I’m staying here. You go ahead. I’ll catch a ride with someone later.
Blair: Okay, see you all later. (Blair walks out and Jo follows her)
Jo: Blair, is something wrong? (Blair doesn’t answer, she just keeps on walking. Jo grabs her arm, but Blair jerks it away and continues to walk.)
Jo: Blair, I’m talking to you. Is something wrong?
Blair: (over her shoulder) No! (keeps walking and leaves the hospital)
(Jo looks puzzled, shakes her head, then turns and goes back into Natalie’s room)
Mrs. G: Jo, is she alright, what’s wrong?
Jo: (discusted) I don’t know.
Natalie: (to Jo) Are you two fighting again?
Jo: What do you mean?
Natalie: Well, she seemed okay until you walked in.
Tootie: Yeah, what is going on between you. Yesterday you were all loving, and today.... watch out.
Jo: (very defensive) I don’t know.
Tootie: Well excuse us!
Jo: Sorry. Can we just talk about something else?
(They all just drop it and talk about other things. Then, Harper shows up and everyone leaves one by one)

1strunfan 11-14-2002, 06:38 PM (Later that evening. Jo is in the grocery store. Her cell phone rings)
Jo: Hello?
Tad: (nervously) Jo, you haven’t seen Blair, have you?
Jo: Yeah, earlier today.
Tad: What time was that?
Jo: I don’t know, earlier this afternoon, why?
Tad: She’s not home. And, I’m getting worried. This just isn’t like her.
Jo: Have you tried her cell phone?
Tad: Of course I have, she has it turned off.
Jo: She’s probably just shopping.
Tad: I’ve called all her favorite boutiques. No one has seen her.
Tad: I don’t know what’s wrong. Unless....
Jo: Unless what?
Tad: Well, she heard you talking in the background when she called me at the office earlier.
Jo: What?
Tad: I told her it wasn’t you, and that I hadn’t seen you. Maybe she didn’t believe me.
Jo: (half mad) Great. Well, that explains alot.
Tad: Jo, You’ve got to help me find her! She isn’t herself lately with the baby and all.
Jo: I know. Listen, don’t worry. You go to all her favorite places and look for her. I’ve got a place or two I can check.
Tad: Okay, bye.
Jo: Bye.
(They hang up. Tad leaves in his car. Jo leaves a cart full of groceries in the middle of the cereal isle and leaves in her car. It’s starting to snow outside and the temperature is dropping. Jo drives past the park and sees someone sitting on the swings. It’s Blair, so she pulls in and walks over to her.)
Jo: Hey. What are you doing here? (stands in front of her to the left)
Blair: Nothing.
Jo: What is wrong?
Blair: (raises her voice) Like you don’t know! Some best friend you turned out to be. I thought you cared about me, turns out, you care more about my husband!
Jo: Calm down. What are you talking about?
Blair: (tears start streaming down her face) Jo, I heard you talking this morning when I called Tad. He told me he was sleeping in. I didn’t know it was going to be with you! (she gets up and starts to walk off)
Jo: (trying to not loose her calm) Now wait just a minute, Blair. Don’t go jumping to conclusions. It’s not like that.
Blair: (sarcastically, turns to look at Jo) Oh really.
Jo: Yes, really. Tad loves. We both do.
Blair: Well, you’ve sure got a funny way of showing it.
Jo: If you will just let me explain .....(Jo walks right in front of Blair)
Blair: Fine, explain.
Jo: Okay. Yeah, I was with Tad this morning. But, we weren’t “doing” anything. We were talking about Tad’s Christmas present to you.
Blair: (quieter) Really?
Jo: Yes, really.
Blair: How do I know that isn’t a lie?
Jo: I’ve never lied to you, and I’m not going to start now.
Blair: Oh Jo, I feel like such a fool. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me. (Blair starts crying and Jo hugs her)
Jo: Don’t worry about it, Blair. You’ve got alot going on right now.
Blair: The sad thing is, I wouldn’t blame him. He loves children, and I can’t give him any. Maybe he would be better off with someone else.
Jo: Would you listen to yourself! You are Blair Warner, any man would be thrilled to have you.
Blair: But, I can’t give him any children. I’m not the woman he thought he married.
Jo: You have got to quit beating yourself up about this. Tad loves you with or without kids.
Blair: You really think so?
Jo: I know so, and so should you. Besides, you can’t just totally give up hope. Something is bound to work out.
Blair: I’m all used up, Jo. I don’t have any hope left.
Jo: Well, then I’ll have to have enough for the both of us. (she smiles) Now, lets get back to the Inn. It’s getting cold out here.
(They both go to their cars, and Jo follows Blair back to the Inn. On the way, she explains things to Tad. The next week and a half, everyone is busy shopping, getting last minute gifts, and watching Natalie’s baby)
(It’s the day before Christmas and everyone is at Mrs. Garrett’s House. The guys are outside double checking all the lights, and the kids are making snow men. The girls are sitting at the kitchen table watching Mrs. Garrett and Beverly Ann prepare snacks for that evening, and getting ready for tomorrow’s dinner. Jo has the baby, Natalie is upstairs.)
Mrs. G: I am so glad the whole family is here for Christmas this year. It’s alot like old times, except there are more of us now. (Natalie walks down the stairs and stands behind Blair)
Tootie: Yeah, and next year there will be even more(she pats her stomach)
Natalie( patting Blair’s shoulder): And, if we can get Blair in on it, maybe even more
Jo: (looks at Blair, then Natalie) Maybe she doesn’t want any.
Blair: No, Jo. (heavy sigh) I think I should just tell them. (Natalie and Tootie smile at each other)
Tootie: Tell us what?
Blair: I can’t have children.
Natalie: What?
Blair: We’ve been trying for two years now, and we can’t.
Beverly Ann: What do you mean, can’t.
Blair: Well, I have something wrong with me, so I’ll never be able to have children. Unless, there is some kind of miracle.
Jo: Or, she adopts.
Tootie: I am so sorry, Blair.
Natalie: I feel just awful. Pushing you to hold JT and everything.
Blair: Don’t worry about it. You couldn’t have known. Anyway, I’m trying to just deal with it and not think about it. So, lets just change the subject, shall we?
Mrs. Garrett: Say, I have a great idea. Why don’t we all have a sleep over here tonight. It would be great, and we would get to see the girls open their gifts.
Beverly Ann: I think that would be a great idea. I’ll go call Andy, and see if he can join us.
Mrs. G: What do you say, girls?
Blair: (looks at the other girls and they smile at each other) We would love to.
Jo: I’ll go tell the guys. They’ll need to make a trip home for the presents. (Jo gives JT to Tootie, then walks out and tells the guys, then goes back in. Jamie and Tisha follow her.)
Tisha: Is it true, do we get to spend the night here, all together?
Tootie: It sure is, kiddo.
Jamie: (hugs Jo) Oh mom, this is going to be the best Christmas ever!
Jo: I think you’re right sweetie.
(Later that night, they all sing Christmas Carols around the piano.)
Jamie: Mom, can we all open one gift tonight?
Jo: I don’t know, Jamie. It’s up to everyone else.
Jamie: (looks around the room) Please?????
Tisha: (gets a pouty look) Yeah, Pleeeeeease???
Mrs. Garrett: I don’t see why not!
Beverly Ann: I think it would be fun. But, can we wait on Andy? I know he won’t want to miss it.
(Tad and Jo exchange glances)
Tad: Of course we can wait on him we don’t want to leave him out.
Beverly Ann: He should be here any time now, I just spoke to him. He’ll just around the corner.
Blair: Why don’t you girls pass everyone out a gift, and as soon as Andy gets here, we can all open them at the same time.
(Jamie and Tisha pass out the gifts. The door bell rings. It’s Andy with a large box. It says: To Blair from Tad.)
Jamie: You are just in time. Mom, can we open the gifts now?
Andy: Merry Christmas everyone. Jamie, do you mind waiting until Aunt Blair opens this one. It won’t wait.
Jamie: I guess so.
(Andy sets the box on the table very gently next to where Blair is standing. Tad stands on one side and Jo stands on the other side of her, Andy walks back outside. )
Tad: Merry Christmas, Honey. Now, open it up.
(Blair lifts the cover off the top and it’s a baby carrier)
Blair: (visable upset) Tad, what kind of joke is this?
(Andy walks in with a fluffy blanket, he is holding very gently. He takes the blanket off and it’s baby in a beautiful red Christmas dress with a large red bow in her hair. Tootie, Natalie, Mrs. G and Beverly Ann look and see the baby. Andy puts a finger over his mouth, and they all start to cry.)
Andy: Blair, here is the rest of it. I didn’t think it would do to put it in the box.
(Blair quickly turns around, and sees the baby)
Jo: Well, Blair, why don’t you take it?
Blair: It’s....It’s...
Tad: A baby, Blair. For you....... for us.
Blair: (sobbing, takes the baby in her arms) This can’t be real. How did you do this?
Jo: Well, remember Amber from the center? She wanted to give her baby up for adoption. I told her I knew someone who would be the perfect mother.(holding back tears)
Tad: (with tear filled eyes) That’s why Jo and I met at my office the other day. Along with Amber and her grandmother. To sign the papers.
Blair: I can’t believe it!
Tootie: This is so wonderful. What are you going to name her?
Natalie: (looks at JT, who she is holding) Look, JT, you have a new little playmate.
Mrs. Garrett: (Crying, looks at Beverly Ann) Another girl, I’m so happy.
Tad: Honey, we need to think of a name.
Tootie: How about Christmas?
Natalie: What about Noelle?
Rick: How about Little Riki? (They all give Rick dirty looks, then laugh) Hey, it was just a suggestion.
Blair: (Looks at the baby, then at Jo.) No I think..... Joanna Marie would be just perfect (She hands the baby to Tad, than turns and she and Jo hug. They both start crying)
Jamie: Mom, are you okay? I’ve never seen you cry before.
Jo: Your Aunt Blair always did bring out the worst in me.
Blair: You mean the best in you.
(They all laugh. Mrs. G, Beverly Ann, Tootie and Natalie join Jo and Blair and they all cry and hug)
Jamie: This is the best Christmas, ever, isn’t it.
Everyone: It sure is!
