View Full Version : Nick's "Fifteen"
danielle black 11-05-2002, 11:16 PM it aired on nickelodeon in the '90s and was a kid's soap opera/high school kinda show. sorta charlie-brownish in that you never saw an adult on the show. anyway, this was where i first saw ryan reynolds. the show wasn't that great, but was very addictive. has anyone else ever seen this show? :loveya:
dlemond 11-05-2002, 11:44 PM I've seen it.
My cousin had a beach house one summer with his friends, and it was an awful rainy day, so we stayed in and partied.
Turned out Nickelodeon was having a marathon of "15" and for some reason we watched a bunch of it.
We laughed our butts off at how bad the sets and the acting were, and the typical storylines. It was like a 90210 show made for about $100.
We still laugh about that day we watched "15".
Oh man its coming back to me who Ryan Reynolds was in that show. The kid Billy who wanted to be in a band and hang out with the cool rebel guy (Dylan?) Too funny.
And I just saw the girl who played the blonde Ashley on "24."
danielle black 11-06-2002, 07:43 AM the show was pretty bad, but i loved it! it seemed to keep you watching while you were ragging on it. :D
dlemond 11-07-2002, 12:21 AM Well, we kept watching because we were fascinated by its existence (and a marathon no less). Some of us didn't make it through more than a couple episodes, but myself and a couple other hardcore party folks watched for a while.
I'd watch it now just for the memories.
danielle black 11-07-2002, 07:44 AM a few of the stars have gone on to do better things. not that it would take much to do something better than fifteen! but kelly from the first season is now on a fbi drama that comes on PAX called sue thomas, fbi eye. she's ditched the jheri curl and is gorgeous. ashley, as you mentioned has done quite a bit. the first thing i saw her in after fifteen was the teen horror flick, the faculty. dylan was on felicity. i don't know if he still is or if the show is even still on. it's always cool to see a member of the fifteen cast doing something else.
ThomasE 02-16-2003, 02:19 AM Man, I loved that show. I wanted to looby to try and get a part on it too. I have the entire first season on tape and have other eps from seasons 2, 3 and 4.

I apologize. I never got a chance to read this post. I loved the season one finale when Kelly set up Brooke and Brooke was all upset and devastated. I was jumping up and screaming like I don't know what. My mom liked Kelly and was disapointed when she did not come back for a second season. I thought that the character Arseman was a Kelly replacement but was wrong, though and I thought Amanda took over the "Teresa" role but was wrong. She was brought in as another sister for Brooke then dropped after she stole Courtney's necklace. I felt bad for Olaf because people like Matt and Brooke treated him bad. I could not stand Matt during season one because he was a mean drunkard. Always boozing it up!
The second season had ups and downs:
Positives: the updated set, I liked the additions of Janice and Arseman.
Negatives: A bunch of new, useless characters that were not needed.(i.e. Leah, John, Erin(Matt's sister) These were Junior High Kids. There were others, too. Brooke got weak in character. Kelly was gone along with Jake, Cindy and Olaf. Some first season storylines were discontinued. Teresa was sent off to some Art school and Amanda(her sister) comes up out of nowhere. I could go on..........
I was really disappointed when I missed an opporunity to get on the show 10 years back. I wanted to be on Nick, but finally got my chance three years later when the Network order six eps of a new show called "The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo".
Billy(Ryan Reynolds) was like 13 the first season, then fourteen the next and fifteen the last season. 3 years of episodes and all this drama was happening in one time period. Already fifteen year olds Dylan, Courtney(Billy's sister), Ashley, Jake and Matt all stayed the same age while Billy aged. I'm glad he and Corcky Martin were able to escape the typecast thing and went on to better things.
danielle black 03-30-2003, 11:25 PM it seemed like with each season the show went down just a lil more. i can't even watch the last season, the whole arseman/dylan/ashley/matt triangle, square whatever it was. and yeah, it took them so many seasons and that was only supposed to be a few months or something.
what was your shot on shelby woo? i remember that show, but didn't really watch it.

Well, I was kid #2 in the first episode who wanted his money back for a counterfeit ticket to a teen club I received. I really did not watch the show either. I was crushed when Fifteen's 4th season started and I was not on it. I loved the show and would not give up my episodes, but how did they get away with some of the things they did on the show and storylines?

that's pretty cool! but by the 4th season of 15, did you REALLY want to be on the show? i mean, it'd really gone down hill at that poiint. *smiles* what were some of the shows/storylines you question them getting away with?

Well, for one thing, someone always had this brother or sister coming into the scene that you never saw the previous season. Extra unessecary characters being added in. When someone got too old/stale they who be sent out of the country/new school and other things like that. Brookes downfall was never continued during season two, her sister Amanda disappears at the end of season two after stealing that important necklance. I hated the fact that Janice disappeared after the accusations of her stealing the necklace cut. Billy turned into the smart alec bully (I'll buy that. He was going through some stuff) then he stopped and then started picking on the new student Jason at the beginning of season 4 and I hated Staci.

is it me, or were all the "new" characters horrible and vague? i think that was one of the downfalls. all the different non-acting folx who were coming on and off the show. no one stuck around long enough for you to get to know. i too was disappointed in how the whole "Brooke betrayal" played out...or rather didn't. yeah, that was one of many that just never got completed.
and how many times did someone run on screen and say, "you will not believe this! you just will not believe this!" *lol*
but i LOVE this show! :D
