View Full Version : Breaking News!!!!! (False Information!)
CLASSIC TV LOVER 11-05-2002, 07:45 PM  I just got off the phone with the nick at nite and with the length of time I was on for I am afraid to see the phone bill. Anyway this is what is happening. In January Nick at Nite is finally giving the heav-ho to Three's Company so for a limited time the Facts of Life will be airing everynite @ 3:00. This surprises me because I thought that NAN had washed their hands of the show. Anyway I am not complaining also TVLAND does plan on bringing the show back and they are fighting for the rights to the show but when the show will actually start airing is yet to be determined. As for Hallmark I believe the show will come back in January once Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie are gone to fill in until the spring when new shows are added. They are treating the show just like they do with ALF. Anyway start taping them when they return to Nick this January and when TVLAND airs them on this years Merrython.

Um, no offense intended, but I find this so hard to believe. I've seen the rough draft of the MerryThon for this year (by complete accident) and FOL is NOT on it. The only part I semi-belive is the *possibility* of FOL on Hallmark come January. The rest, I highly doubt. TC will probably be on Nick through the remainder of it's contract (Through 2007). Anyway, until Pav tells us if this is real or not, I can't believe it.
Impressions 11-05-2002, 08:15 PM Hmmmm.... That's almost too good to be true. I don't know but that dosen't sound like anything Nick-at-Nite would do, I thought it left it for good, I doubt it would ever come back. I can see The Facts of Life coming to Hallmark again, but Nick-at-Nite, I don't think so. pavanbadal specifically told us that FOL would not air in the Merry-Thon, just TV Land shows, and Screen Gems shows, so that is almost hard to believe. I think you might have your hopes up to high, It might be awhile before TV Land picks up the show, and why would three networks be fighting to air one show, it just seems to be a little over the top.
TVJunkie101 11-05-2002, 08:18 PM Oh, and Nick at TVL are one in the same, so they wouldn't be fighting over a show. TVL is more interested in airing shows from the 50s, 60s and 70s, nothing from the 80s, except some special block programming (Kitschen, or Archie Bunker's Place). So, like I said before, and I agree with Impressions, this is too good to be true. And I find it very hard to believe.

Oh YEAH!!
TVJunkie101 11-05-2002, 08:20 PM From what I know, both FOL and DS are Screen Gems shows. But, are obviously separate from the deal Viacom (TVL/Nick) has with Screen Gems to air just certain episodes of shows. Because FOL and DS both had pretty full runs on Nick at Nite.

How come they dont show them on "The Screen Gems Network"?
TVJunkie101 11-05-2002, 08:34 PM They did. Not sure when. They aired one episode of FOL and I belive an episode of DS at one time. I can't confirm this, but that's what I've heard. Also, Columbia-Tristar distributes both FOL and DS and Columbia-TriStar is Screen Gems. So...
DarleneIllyria 11-05-2002, 08:36 PM I'm not counting on anything until it happens. When I see it on N @ N, I promise I'll come back in here and eat up my words. Other than that, I'm not going to get excited and run around the room screaming because I think FOL is coming back. Think is a helluva lot different that It Is.
Juss Like Jo Po 11-05-2002, 09:38 PM I wanna believe you but its hard to after all that FOL has gone thru but hey its good to think about it
PhoenixMcKeonism 11-05-2002, 09:49 PM whatever, I mean... I personally think the message about fol coming back on three networks is shady.... I'm angered it went off hallmark because i havent taped any of hte episodes and i was hoping it would start over.... and i saw it like friday i believe with the pilot episode... and i was looking forward to jo episodes... but now its like aw man.... you know? I cant see facts of life.... for a long time whenever it comes back on the air on hallmark or some other staton..... i really cant understand why hallmark would rather hack fol off than i dream fo jeanie or bewitched..... i mean these shows dont really appeal to youth ages.... but i dont know maybefol was designed for old folgys who grew up wih that stuff.... LOL

Hmm...the way I think of it, FOL is one of the shows that could be meant for any year because teens are always gonna have the kind of situations the girls went through in their life. Yeah, I admit some people might tune into the show in the year 2010 or something and laugh and crack jokes about the hairstyles and the clothes.
However, they did go through realistic situations that anybody could identify too. How can you relate to Jeannie or Bewitched like that? Jeannie and Bewitched might be okay to watch for the humor, but you won't really be able to relate to any of it. Yeah, when I did watch each show I wished I was a genie or a witch so I could make my life so much better. Other than that....nothing to relate too. Oh wait, one more thing. Guys always hate mother in-laws. You'll see a trend. Fred Flintstone hated Wilma's mother. Darrin hated Endora. It's a trend or something.
PhoenixMcKeonism 11-05-2002, 10:23 PM yeah i typed a mistake..... FOL is one of the few shows on hallmark that yu can really relate to. I mean i dont know about jeanie or bewitched cause you cant relate to those shows that have odd plots.... LOL but yeah I think bewitched and i dream of jeanie is aimed for little children.... and fol is aimed for with people who grew up with that show.... actually all ages .... partculary teens though in my opinon but it can relate to all ages...
Pavan 11-05-2002, 10:51 PM This is NOT true AT ALL! This is the same guy who posted that there was going to be an FOL marathon last January!
