Peacock has decided to drop the entire 10-episode first season of its newspaper-based The Office follow-up on Sept. 4. That's a change from the original plan to roll out The Paper over four weeks (https://deadline.com/2025/08/the-office-follow-up-series-the-paper-trailer-photos-1236480544/): Four episodes on Sept. 4, followed by two episodes per week through Sept. 25. "Citing positive responses from people who have previewed the series (though not in print; reviews are embargoed until closer to the premiere), Peacock, Universal Television and the show’s producers decided to make the change and drop the entire season at once," says The Hollywood Reporter's Rick Porter. "The move will also put the entirety of The Paper in front of audiences several weeks before the start of the traditional TV season makes the premiere calendar even more crowded."

The Paper creators were initially against a binge-release, but Peacock convinced them that many The Office fans had binged the show (https://www.thewrap.com/the-paper-binge-release-peacock-the-office-greg-daniels-michael-koman/)

“For us, I think, we started off agitating for the drop, and partly it was because the original Office was a weekly thing,” co-creator Greg Daniels, who developed the U.S. version of The Office, told The Wrap. He further explained that the idea for a binge release “didn’t come from” him or co-creator Michael Koman. “But then, (Peacock execs) had pointed out that most people who are big Office fans probably binged it because they saw it on Netflix or Peacock. So that argument kind of evaporated...The company is smart and they have a lot of strategic thinking, and (I’m) not sure (of) everything behind it.” Koman added that he preferred to binge through a season. “My personal viewing habits align much more with a binge release,” Koman shared. “I like being able to just decide, especially if I’m into something, I get impatient now.”
