The new CHCH TV fall schedule is tentatively almost set. The daytime retro lineup is about to look a lot different starting on Labour Day Monday Sept. 1. For one thing, it's going to get a lot more dramatic. If you are a fan of drama/action/crime series from the 1970s and 1980s, this is the lineup for you. For me, I'll take a pass after the noon hour begins. Other items of note:

1. The double plays are gone. All series will feature one episode each day.

2. "Beyond The Gates" is out for now although you never know if they might take it back once its new season begins. This schedule would have to be changed again and that would be a real pain to sort through.

3. There may be additional series shown on the weekends. I'll post those changes later this week.

So here it is, the unofficial CHCH Fall 2025 schedule as of Monday, Sept. 1, according to the very reliable TV Passport.

10:00 AM MATLOCK (Season 3)

11:00 LEAVE IT TO BEAVER (Season 6)

The final season for the beloved Beaver.

11:30 LAVERNE & SHIRLEY (Season 4)

12:00 PM THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN

1:00 THE BIONIC WOMAN

Nice scheduling quirk here with the spinoff following the original series.

2:00 THE A-TEAM

Mr. T. and his gang arrive to wipe out all soap operas that get in their way.

3:00 KNIGHT RIDER

The return of David Hasselhoff and his talking car KITT after a short hiatus. Where is Baywatch instead?

4:00 CHARLES IN CHARGE

4:30 COACH

That's it for now. It's not much but it will have to do. I give the whole thing a thumbs down.

More action shows and less sitcoms now.

Wasn't it mentioned at some point that "The Rockford Files" would be on there? I'm kind of looking forward to seeing that again.

"Six Million Dollar Man" is cool though...I remember my whole family really being into that show for a while during the original run.

Would love to see some more sitcoms though...

I want to see more sitcoms too. That's why I'm so disappointed.

"The Rockford Files" was mentioned and seen in the fall preview video which was shown last spring during the upfronts. It might come on later in the fall. Did you know that "The Bionic Woman" only lasted for 3 seasons? Once that show ends, I would expect "The Rockford Files" to replace it but I'm not positive about it.

Through my TV remote, I saw All in the Family at 5pm.

Bionic Woman starts before the other new shows do, on August 22.

I have also noticed that today. According to the schedule I saw, "The Bionic Woman" will start tomorrow at 1 pm and "All In The Family" is supposed to start one day after everyone else does on Tuesday Sept. 2. This is good that they have found a sitcom to place in the 5 pm slot. I hope that they can find another good one for the 5:30 spot. I'll have to keep checking and see what comes up.

Thank you, Dianne!!

Here is the fall schedule on CHCH Retro Classic Tv Shows

10AM Matlock
11AM Leave it to Beaver
11:30 Laverne & Shirley
12:00 The Six Million Dollars Man
1PM Bionic Woman
2PM The A-Team
3PM Knight Riders
4PM Charlie in Charge
4:30 Coach
5pm All in the Family. (Not sure what up with that because it not on all week)

It seem to me that CHCH remove Beyond the Gates due to possible low rating in Ontario. But you will see Beyond the Gates on CBS at 2pm. (If you like)

That all folks see you later.

CHCH does have a ratings drop when Beyond the Gates comes on. Ontario isn't interested in watching "black royalty in Washington" it seems. That's going by the "trending" list on Bell cable. Bionic Woman did well today as do all their classic shows. Leave It to Beaver is their most successful one it's always top 10 in it's time slot up against all the talk shows and reality stuff. Viewers want scripted shows no matter how old they are. There's another ratings drop at 5 when the classic shows end. So I wouldn't worry about classic tv disappearing off CHCH anytime soon.

Following up on what I posted about All if the Family - I'm now confused ????

When I took a better look, All in the Family was only mentioned at 5pm on September 2. After that it was back to Nightline at 5 pm. I haven't checked recently, so maybe this has changed again.

Not suprising nobody is watching Beyond the Gates, but what about Matlock?

Don't worry. I will straighten this out for you.

This week, CHCH has begun to do something that I haven't seen in at least 3 years. They have started to run promos for their retro shows ahead of the fall season instead of their often-awful primetime shows. So far, I have seen promos for all of the series that will be starting next week except for one. Today, during "Laverne & Shirley", there was finally one for "All In The Family", where they made it very clear that the show will premiere on Monday at 5 pm and will run every weekday from that point on.

Weekends are still unknown at this point. They have not announced anything for Saturdays and Sundays yet and likely won't unless a show is about to end like "Three's Company" will this week or "Leave It To Beaver" later this month.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Thanks Sal.
I did think it was odd that All in the Family was only mentioned to be shown on one day

I haven't been watching too much on this station recently, so I wouldn't have seen the commercials. Since commercials are now being shown for upcoming shows, obviously it means a lot of viewers had been tuning out.

I am surprised they are showing All In The Family considering its content.

I am really enjoying Leave It To Beaver. I forgot how funny that show was unlike My Three Sons which i thought was terrible and not funny.

I have tried to watch The Bionic Woman but just cannot get into it. I am looking forward to The 6 million dollar Man though.

I dont care about Knight Rider or The A Team.

Charles in Charge is just as bad as i remembered it. the theme song is creepy and the whole story of how this guy has such a influence on the families is just weird. one family moves out and away and a new family arrives and Charles just takes over influencing that family. lol

Good to see the line up returning to all "retro" instead of having a soap or game show in the middle of the mix.

"All in the Family" at 5pm was unexpected. It would be great if they added "The Jeffersons" at 530pm.

I had forgotten about CHCH for a while but now that there are new shows again it's time for another look.

They are running disclaimers at the beginning of the show and after each commercial break. They appear to be running it intact (unedited) but I noticed there are quite a few words muted out during the first episode. I guess this is how they'll handle it.

I wonder if those same words were muted on recent US airings. It does lose some of its effect by doing this.

I’m disappointing the first episode of All in the Family today because that is not the season 1 episode 1. The title called Meet the Bunker, where Mike meet Gloria’s parents for the first time. CHCH jump some episodes along the way. I wonder if jump a lot of episode during the entire series, very disappointing. Let see what happen tomorrow.

I totally expected it. The "trigger warnings" that you see before each episode were likely made for series just like this one although the muting of certain words and having the warnings repeated after the commercials does seem to be a bit much for me.

What I didn't expect at all was to see the same warnings applied to other series, especially "Leave It To Beaver". It seems like that show gets it in nearly every episode and I don't understand that at all. If I could pick one series that I would choose as being a 100% polar opposite to "All In The Family", it would be that one. What could possibly happen there that would offend anybody? Even Eddie Haskell was a complete angel compared to Archie Bunker and George Jefferson! I wish someone would explain it me.

I remember when they used to air Good Times they would mute some of the words for obvious reasons. i dont blame them for muting All In The Family. some of the descriptions of minorities are bad. some people wont want to hear that. its cringe worthy.

I noticed that When Leave It To Beaver wraps up its final season they will start from the beginning again. i dont mind that. i have enjoyed watching it.

CHCH will have a slight schedule change for Tuesday morning in honor of Remembrance Day. The new morning lineup will look like this:

10:00 AM Leave It To Beaver
10:30 Remembrance Day Mass live from Hamilton, Ont.
11:30 Laverne & Shirley

The good news is that Matlock will not be shown but will be back the next day and the schedule will resume and be back to normal, with one exception. "The Bionic Woman" aired its final episode today. As I had predicted, "The Rockford Files" will take its place beginning tomorrow at 1 pm after "The Six Million Dollar Man".

It was fun to see Lindsey Wagner on the first episode of The Rockford Files right after it took the spot of The Bionic Woman!

They were running an episode the other day where Gloria is singing "Making Whoopie" to Mike - and they muted the word "whoopie" - not once but twice.

This is a bit ridiculous - what's offensive about that word? If you watch "Newlywed Game" reruns they use that word all the time.

I can sort of understand why they might mute a word that could be considered derogatory to a certain race, but it's going way too far. The pendulum has swung way too far and I don't know when it's going to start swinging back again. If you look at these shows and the message they're trying to convey, in the end Archie never wins. If you mute half the words you're missing part of the point. These shows aired intact in the past.

I'm glad they're showing this because i haven't seen it in a long time, but it's disappointing. During the fourth season they no longer had the 30 second "epilog" scene at the end and went straight to the closing credits after the "second act". Sometimes they'll run the disclaimer before the end credits when there's no other scene. Huh? Talk about being too careful.

The New Year is almost here and that will mean more new shows will be coming to CHCH. Here's one I'll bet you didn't expect. On New Year's Day, "Knight Rider" will be taking its last ride at 3 pm. The next day, January 2nd, it will be replaced by "The Mod Squad", the 1960s classic drama series about a group of 3 troubled teens working together as crime fighters. That should get 2026 off to a flying start!

Mod Squad was a great show. One of the earliest dramas that pioneered the police detective formula along with Ironside.
