CBS'"Double Dare"(yes, there WAS a CBS Goodson-Todman game show called "Double Dare",in the late 1970's,and no,it was NOT THE SAME as the Nickelodeon version-it was a different show),.NBC's "Wizard of Odds"(Alex Trebek's FIRST game show he hosted),NBC's "High Rollers"(with the big dice).and NBC's "Classic Concentration"(from 1987-1992)?

Before becoming the host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek hosted two other shows in the early 80s. He hosted a syndicated game show titled "Pitfall", which was taped in West Vancouver and "Battlestars" on NBC. "Battlestars was similar to "Hollywood Squares" and it was the first game show to use computer technology. There was also a short-lived revival under the title "The New Battlestars in 1983.

Alex hosted two shows on NBC that had double runs - High Rollers and Battlestars. He also hosted Wizard of Odds, Double Dare, Pitfall and The $128,000 Question before he landed the Jeopardy gig.

I believe Chuck Woolery took over as host of High Rollers which is one of my alltime favorite game shows.

Incorrect. It was Wink Martindale who hosted the 1987-88 version of High Rollers. Alex Trebek hosted the 1974-76 & 1978-80 versions of HR before that.

I remember High Rollers and he also hosted the second season of the $128,000 Question. I used to watch that all the time.

I LOVED Classic Concentration!! I would watch it in the mornings with my grandma and siblings and would make up my own puzzle and game table. They would have the chance to win imaginary cars, jewelry, and the like. Those were the days!!!! :D :D :D

He also hosted the 1990s version of "To Tell The Truth" and he seemed perfect for that job. I always felt he got too chatty on Concentration with the players, when they were trying to concentrate.

Do you think if they ever did a category on "Jeopardy!"called "Alex Trebek-game shows before Jeopardy!,"(it would probably be a Double Jeopardy! round category),the "Jeopardy!"contestants on the day that category was featured, would know the answers? It's hard to tell.
