The year was 1983 and Cyndi Lauper was introduced to the world with her debut album She's So Unusual and who can remember when Girls Just Want To Have Fun was her popular single? I didn't even know who Cyndi Lauper was until my mother had the She's So Unusual album on cassette and she liked the song Girls Just Want To Have Fun. And I think that She's So Unusual was really gonna put Cyndi Lauper on top. And who can forget when Time After Time was a hit ballad on soft pop stations and in that ballad Cyndi showed her talent at singing ballads so well. But of course the powerful She Bop "I don't why she named this song She Bop?" but that song was so full of power that you hear it you can tell that Cyndi Lauper shows her dance-pop skills. And I think why this album became such a success for Cyndi Lauper was due to the fact that She's So Unusual is actually a good album and is just like Tapestry is to Carole King She's So Unusual is Cyndi Lauper's Tapestry

Her album She's So Unusual came out the same time as MTV channel was hitting the big time and her video Girls Just Want To Have Fun show case the girls power in male dominated rock music video. Along with other two girl singers Madonna and Pat Benatar.

I also have that album True Colors of Cyndi Lauper and between that one and She's So Unusual She's So Unusual is great. Did you know Cyndi covered When You Were Mine that was originally a Prince song? And in the True Colors album Billy Joel can be heard singing the bridge on the song Maybe He'll Know

I also think that Cyndi Lauper had hoped that She's So Unusual would make her a big household name and when it did the world caught on with her unique style quickly. Even after her third album A Night To Remember came out in 1989 Cyndi knew that she had attracted the right audience. But it's easy to see why Time After Time is the best ballad from She's So Unusual because she really gives it her all and that's why you see a lot of singers cover Time After Time a lot from R&B singer Inoj and many others

She's So Unusual was also the first and only Cyndi Lauper album my mom got on cassette and she showed it to me and I thought it was amazing and my mother and I used to like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun because it was so fun. But I can say the other song on the album that is good is Money Changes Everything and on that song Cyndi really shows her rock talent well

Yeah I remember that. Because I was 14 years old and had just started my freshman year of high school and suddenly Cyndi Lauper was everywhere all over the radio.
