The Hollywood Reporter reports today that "Showgirls" lead Elizabeth Berkeley has been cast for a recurring role in "CSI: Miami" over on CBS.

She'll play Horatio's (David Caruso) ex-wife Julia Winston, who's also the mother of H's teenage son Kyle (Evan Ellingson). The two former spouses meet again once Julia becomes part of an investigation.

Poor Elizabeth Berkley. No matter how many different roles she takes on in her career, chances are most people know her only for her work on late 80s sitcom Saved by the Bell and 90s sleazy stripper-flick Showgirls. But it looks like the 35-year-old actress may finally have scored a role to remember (for good reasons, that is).

Berkley is set to join CBS crime drama CSI: Miami as a recurring character. She will play the part of Julia Winston, the former wife of Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and the mother of his recently discovered son, Kyle (Evan Ellingson). Her character becomes part of an investigation when her billionaire husband is murdered.

The actress isn’t entirely new to the CSI franchise, having guest-starred on the original CSI in 2003. Berkley’s other acting credits include parts in films Any Given Sunday and Roger Dodger, and TV work on Without a Trace and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
