My "car" is the King County Metro Bus System which serves all of Seattle and the rest of King County. It's been most popular for a series of wonderful events such as the shooter on Rte #359 (Aurora Village in North Seattle to Downtown) on November 27, 1998 (my birthday, btw:rolleyes: ) who killed the bus driver and caused the bus to fly off the Aurora Bridge into a row of apartments below, killing himself and an elderly passenger as well
as injuring others. Many people believe he was trying to make the bus plunge off the bridge into the SHIP CANAL over Lake Union--it was several feet further and a VERY HIGH drop from above.
:eek2: And a few months ago in the Ranier Valley area in South Seattle, after a driver got into an altercation with a passenger on the #7 (I think that was it), some warped individual decided to take a 90-mph JOY RIDE through the streets, plowing into several
parked cars and messing up their occupants good... Metro's choice routes are #174 (Downtown Seattle to Federal Way), #6
(Downtown Seattle to North Seattle/Aurora Village), #7 (Downtown to Rainier District/Central District), and the #150 (Downtown Seattle to Auburn, the one I take.:( ). You can find a lot of crazy action on the 174, drunks and messed up people on board, and if you have to go to south Federal Way late after midnight after work like I did several years ago, it gets INTERESTING......

Metro...Limo of the Damned.

Of course, when I mean "choice", I mean, choice for WEIRDNESS.
And many of us don't have much of a choice...:(

I drive a '76 Cadillac Limousine. Black inside and out; white vinyl top. It only has 83,000 miles. In case anyone is wondering how I can afford gas for such a big (21 feet long) car, my drive to work is only 4 miles (one way). If anyone is curious as to fuel mileage, it's 10-13 mpg., usual is about 10.5-11.0 mpg. Fun car... two climate control systems (front and rear), rear compartment radio control, 9-passenger capability, power partition window and jump seats in the back. When I get my scanner connected, I'll post some pics- I did not connect it when I bought my second computer.

I also own a '71 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, which my mom drives. 89,000 miles, black with a green interior. And, I own half of a '76 Cadillac Seville, white, black interior, 106,000 miles. My dad owns the other half.

They are fun to own; one reason being that they just are not seen much anymore (except at car shows). They are also BIG.

I know a few other fellow Cadillac enthusiasts in my area. One has four of 'em... '63 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, '67 Limo, two Eldorado Convertibles- '71 and '75.

Another has '67 DeVille Convertible, '68 Sedan de Ville (a nice blue one), '67 Fleetwood 75 9-passenger sedan (similar to a limo, but no partition window), and a '68 Fleetwood Brougham, again painted dark blue.

Yes, it is a daily driver! :D
Although, I sometimes try to give it a rest on Sunday's and use the '71.

One reason I bought a limo is because I would keep seeing them in wrecking yards, a '73, a '75, etc. They were not smashed up either. My theory is that the engine or transmission needed work and the owner did not want to fix it. Now, that's okay to do to a non-classic car in which hundreds of thousands were built, but not okay to do to a Cadillac limo in which only about 1,000 per year were built (there were 834 '76 Limos built- mine is # 246). So I figured since there are not that many around anymore, I will do my part and save at least one. :)

Another reason is the fact that an advantage in buying an old car is that you can afford the most expensive model!

Thanks, Fonz. Glad you like the pics. The location was on White Oak Ave. in Granada Hills (Calif.) Several miles from where I live, but I thought the street would be a good site for a car photo. Can't you just imagine Fonzie riding in the back. ;)

And, if you like the background in that picture, just wait for some of my scenery photos (coming soon).

Well, a '79 T/A does not have quite the power of the earlier 400- Ram Air and 455 Firebirds, but I'm sure it's much easier on gas. Some of those early '70s 'Birds only got 10 mpg. (or less).
