It should have been "Christmas in June (June 25 - the halfway point)

BUT

Since July 4th celebrations were too close and there are "no holidays" between July 4 to Labor Day the retail/marketers decided on having July 25 to have "Christmas In July" instead. It also can start the "Back To School" shopping.
