When Sister Sledge released We Are Family in 1979 I cannot figure out why We Are Family had become a smash hit of disco and to this day it still ranks as disco's top hit next to Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive and I first heard We Are Family in the movie The Birdcage and I never knew why it was a smash hit. And even the Pittsburgh Pirates used it as their theme song and every group has covered it. Was We Are Family the hit that made Sister Sledge superstars?

I love that song.....I like hearing it in analogue :)
