does anyone remember how Darryl and Darryl came to have the same names?
I seem to remember that it was something to do with different fathers, both of them with the name Darryl, but it is very foggy.

Anyone who might remember, please fill me in.

Thanks

One of the darryls was named larry at birth!

I think it's a shame that there even has to be an explanation--logical or otherwise. I just thought it was funny as heck and nobody could have pulled off that "other brother Darryl" better than Bill Sanderson with his dry delivery!

Maybe their mother was a big fan of the name Darryl and couldn't think of other names for the third son.

Larry, Darryl, and Darryl were always supposed to be slightly mysterious . I remember one episode where Larry mentioned "our Uncle Larry, our Uncle Darryl, and our other Uncle Darryl" .

Did it ever show where they lived? I'm imagining like a backwoods cabin!

Yes! Stephanie once went for a walk in a snowstorm, got lost in the woods, and took shelter in a cabin she found. Imagine her mortification when the owners of the cabin returned home and it was Larry, Darryl, and Darryl!

Thanks Marvo! I'm looking forward to the eps when they are regulars on the show! ;)

Larry and the two Darryls were only supposed to be one time guest stars in the early episode where Dick hires them to dig out the 300 year old skeleton from the basement. But they received such a good reception that they were brought back a few more times during the first two seasons. Finally, it was decided to make them regulars in the third season by making them the owners of the Minuteman Cafe, eliminating the Kirk character in the process.

I saw that ep the other day. It was great. I was so happy to see Larry and the Darryls!:D It was a perfect ep for them to be in! Another poster had told me they wouldn't be in the early seasons, so I figured they were only in that one and would be brought in later. First run I do remember them running the Minuteman café. I don't remember Kirk as well. I'd much rather have larry and the Darryls in the show than Kirk! ;)

Kirk was basically a one joke character. And that one joke was that he was a compulsive liar. That joke got stale fairly quickly so it's no surprise that the character got phased out and Larry, Darryl, and Darryl promoted to regulars in his place.

Yes and trying to date Leslie too! You are right, he doesn't add that much to the show!

That ep was on tonight! It was cute how the three bowls were at the table and the three beds. Like Goldilocks and the three bears! Stephanie looks like Goldilocks! :) This really showed a good side of Larry and the Darryl's . They were really good to her! I thought the cabin seemed cozy! Very backwoods and all, but homey and cozy! And at least they did have electricity! ;)

One of them sat on a porcupine as a child.

I thought they had a room up above the café.
