Three Wishes for Opie the worst B&W episode? That's a joke if I ever heard one.

Except for #1 which is my least favorite here are 10 in no particular order that IMO are far worse:

1. Aunt Bee's Romance
2. Andy Saves Gomer
3. Opie Loves Helen
4. Andy and the Woman Speeder
5. Barney On the Rebound
6. The Clubmen
7. Guest in the House
8. Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee
9. Gomer the House Guest
10. The Case of the Punch in the Nose

I've wondered if the Wyatt Earp role wasn't supposed to be played by Wally Cox. Those are sure Wally Cox glasses.

Cox was the guest star the very same week (January 26,1966) on the Dick van Dyke Show, in "The Making of a Councilman." It's odd to see how radically the Griffith show changed character while van Dyke remained funny.

What is there NOT to like about Three Wishes for Opie?

The way it's presented, as recounted by Andy to Helen, Barney's obsession with the Count. The nonstop laughs. It's one of the most memorable episodes in the series.

The Wyatt Earp episode was horrible.

One TAGS episode that should have been mentioned is "Suppose Andy Gets Sick" from the last season. The most cringeworthy part is where just about everyone gangs up on Andy when he is resting and trying to recover. If that episode had been done in the Knotts era can you imagine Barney yelling at those people and, failing to heed Andy's frequent warnings about not putting his bullet in his gun, the bullet being discharged? It would have made that ep easier to take.

Thanks for commenting. I agree the episode is unoriginal and irritating, but I think it has more laughs than the average color episode.
