Aaron Brian Damage 10-30-2002, 07:55 PM Yes it is. Miss Golden 08-10-2004, 01:17 AM Originally posted by gmfox8@cox.net Does Anyone Know If Nurses Was A Spinn-off From The Golden Girls And Empty Nest. Aaron Nurses was a spinoff of both shows. Nurses debuted on NBC in the Fall of 1991. The 1991-1992 season was the only season where all 3 shows aired new episodes. Nurses had crossovers with both Golden Girls and Empty Nest. Some included Rose and Blanche crossing over to Nurses during the 91-92 season. In later years Harry Weston crossed over to Nurses when he dated the Loni Anderson character. ThomasE 09-21-2007, 11:28 PM I remember those crossover episodes. One episode, Loni Anderson came over to Empty Nest and flirted with Harry and he asked her out. Then later eps on Nurses, they discuss how sour the date went. I do have the hurricane night crossover: Golden Girls: Carol's date is the therapist for Dorothy and Stan. Carol winds up finding out that Dorothy and Stan are the two people that her boyfriend (date) to her about. He renames them "Dan" and "Morothy" LOL. Empty Nest: Sophia comes to Harry's house Nurses: Rose comes to the hospital to work as a candy striper. Even the dumb nurse Julie gets tired of her. Smartboy 09-23-2007, 09:42 AM "The Golden Girls" was the first of this trio and it came out in 1985. In 1988, the Westons were introduced as "The Golden Girl's" neighbors and "Empty Nest" was born. The two series were shown back to back until 1991. In the fall of this year, we met some of the staff who worked at the same medical center as Dr. Weston. This was the beginning of "Nurses". I believe that it was 1993 in which "The Golden Girls" had their series finalie and "Empty Nest" and "Nurses" went from being part of a trio to being a duo. In the spring of 2004 "Nurses" fizzeled out and "Empty Nest" stood alone. The "Golden Girls" spinoff "The Golden Palace" which was shown on a rival network was doomed before it even started. With this series gone, Estele Ghetty was in want of a job. NBC handled this by having her character miss the old neighborhood and decide to move back into the Shady Pines Nursing Home. For the final season of "Empty Nest" they had various interactions between Sophia, Dr. Weston, his family and his coworkers. By the end of 1995, the whole chapter was closed and all of the actors and actresses went on with there lives and I went on with mine! The end. Scoobiedoo30 09-21-2009, 05:30 PM Nurse aired from 1991 until it was cancelled in 1994 TMC 04-16-2017, 04:15 AM Nurse aired from 1991 until it was cancelled in 1994 Nurses was the weakest show in the GG universe because it never had a handle on whose show it was. Once they brought Loni Anderson in and still couldn't find an audience in the post-GG NBC Saturday timeslot, they cancelled it the same time CBS cancelled Evening Shade so as not to show favoritism in the Loni vs. Burt divorce wars. |
