Why? (https://www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-Alf-The-Alien-TV-series-have-a-movie-version/answer/Jon-Mixon-1)

The narrative is nearly four decades old - ALF is not a new property and would be difficult to sell to modern audiences.
The franchise was handled very poorly - Many bad decisions were made involving the character and his narrative universe and that allowed him and it to become unappealing.
The competition today is too fierce - While Disney has been able to earn vast fortunes from 40+ year old narratives like Star Wars and the variety Marvel tales, there aren't many other franchises that are doing as well. ALF would be facing stiff competition if it was released and it doesn't seem to be up to the task.
Much of the “humor" involving the character is no longer humorous - ALF wasn't riotously funny in the 1980s when it aired, so it would be a difficult sale now. Even worse than that, so many negatives have come to the fore that it’s difficult to even consider laughing at the series in any form.
They actually did have a “movie” - The series was canceled and so the fifth season premiere was converted into a television film (See below). It’s not very good and it wasn’t open-ended meaning that it doesn’t seem to have been prepared to potentially reboot the series.
