Last week, GRIT TV took both “Tombstone Territory” and one of my favorite westerns, “Bat Masterson” off of its afternoon tv schedule. The two classic western tv series were replaced with western-themed films.

I was very disappointed that GRIT TV took “Bat Masterson” off of its schedule. Watching the late Gene Barry as Bat Masterson was truly a wonderful example of observing unremitting narcissism at its very best! To see Mr. Barry preen and kvell so convincingly while either on horseback or seated at a gaming table was a consummate example of dandyism during the halcyon days of the Old West!

I will truly miss my daily, two-episode fix on GRIT TV of the exploits and fashion displays of, arguably, one of America’s greatest fops and fancy Dans, Mr. Gene “Bat Masterson” Barry.
