well, i will first describe this episode.
venus is worried when he has to face a reporter from a black militant magazine and herb faces an indentity crisis.
on a mercy date with jennifer herb decides to CHANGE his wardwrobe.
the CHANGE in in herbs wardwrobe and style backfires when it puts off one of his sleazy cilents(played by art metrano of police academy 2)
for the interview venus CHANGES into a more radical wardwrobe.
venus is surprised that the reporter from the "black militant magazine" is white.
venus is more shocked that the white reporter is working under the same working conditions as he is.( a minority working with people form another race)
tim reids former comedy partner tom dreesen plays the role of the white reporter from the "black militant magazine"

now my comments about this episode!
the writing and acting in this episode is razor sharp!
trademark for wkrp!
my favorite quote is when jennifer tells herb "for
the first time your right and i'm wrong and don't forget it because it will never happen again"
but this episode has alot of excellent quotes!
those of you who have CHANGES on videotape please watch it again, you will be entertained!
its WKRP at its best.
i would like to add CHANGES was written by peter trokvei who also written "real families"
and "daydreams"

Yet another great episode.

Waiter to Herb: "Mr. Tarmac, your cheque."
What I like about this part is how the audience sortof misses the joke and the waiter just plunges into his next line.

Herb: (something to the effect of) "I still have some minor things to work on, you know like a new personality."

Andy, nonchalantly: "Hey Herb, who are you trying to fool?"

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

Funny how things had changed since the first season though - watching Les and Bailey pal around, Herb not being a complete letch with Jennifer, Venus and Herb having a friendly debate.

Funny with Herb asking Jennifer if she ever heard of a "mercy lunch." That is timeless.

Herb even recognizing that Jennifer even going out without him would be an act of mercy shows how much he evolved.

Herb and all his credit cards at the restaurant was classic.
Fun to see him all giddy to be there with Jennifer.

I thought the only weak spot was the portrayal of the white reporter from the black magazine (Tim Reid's pal). It was a little hard to buy, not that it couldn't be true, but just how simplisitic it was to mirror the reversal with Venus. Like the guy wouldn't know how a black man would feel exactly the same way?

But overall, fun stuff, a great episode.
