LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Friends" star Matthew Perry is in talks to star in a
movie with his father John Bennett Perry. Perry senior played the familiar hunky
sailor in the classic Old Spice television commercials.
Titled "The Beginning of Wisdom" the movie will center on a recently widowed man
living on a ranch with his son. In order to help his grieving father, the son hires a
free-spirited woman to do the household chores. Her presence helps heal the
father-son relationship and bring love back into the family.
The picture, written by T.J. Lynch, will be produced for Samaha Productions and
Franchise Pictures with Peter Hunt directing, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Perry, 31, will be starring next in Howard Deutch’s "The Whole Nine Yards 2"
opposite Bruce Willis. If final negotiations go well, he’ll begin work on "The
Beginning of Wisdom" in the spring, once he finishes shooting the ninth season of
the television series "Friends."
John Bennett Perry, 61, appeared in Roger Krumble’s "The Sweetest Thing" as
Parker Posey’s father. He also played Matthew Perry’s father in Andy Tennant’s
"Fools Rush In."
