I'm sure a lot of you are aware that as of this past February, MeTV Toons suddenly stopped showing reruns of the classic "Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends" series. But that foxy private toon detective Sam Valentino did a bit of sleuthing and found out about the rights issues leading to it being pulled, involving Jay Ward's family, Weigel Broadcasting, WildBrain and Comcast/Universal and how complicated some of it got!

So just like I mentioned in the METV Toons topic, Wildbrain lost rights to distribute the show back in February. Distribution rights to Rocky And Bullwinkle will probably go back to Classic Media / DreamWorks.

FWIW, I got a nice reply from Neal Sabin of Weigel, after asking him if MeTV Toons can get Rocky & Bullwinkle back. Paraphrasing,

“We want to get it again as much as you do!”

Sabin has been extremely nice answering my emails. I figure he is busy as a bee, with almost a dozen networks to oversee.
