I always wondered why Tiffany's 1990 album New Inside was considered a failure? Because it seemed that with this album they were trying to change Tiffany's image and sound. Because when I listened to my copy of New Inside it seemed that they were trying to make Tiffany an R&B artist because on one of the songs titled It's You Tiffany attempts to sound like Pebbles and the song is a ripoff of Pebbles's hit Girlfriend. The only two songs that were singles from New Inside were Back In The Groove and Here In My Heart which is dedicated to the late Ryan White. The other song I can't figure out why it was made was called Tiff's Back and when you get the general picture Tiffany did not really disappear from the music scene after 1988 so this song was odd to me. I found out that Maurice Starr produced this album and the main reason why New Inside got poor promotion from MCA Records was due to her split from her manager George Tobin. And this album was to make Tiffany a bigger star too

In my eyes why Tiffany's 1990 album New Inside was a failure was simply because when she debuted in 1987 Tiffany was a teen pop artist and started with a pop sound and when she released her second album Hold An Old Friend's Hand in 1988 that album was also a pop album. But I think with New Inside with Maurice Starr as her producer he tried to make Tiffany an R&B artist because with singers like Pebbles and Karyn White becoming popular Tiffany thought she would become huge in R&B music. But I think it was promoted poorly and only had two singles released from it. But that's why Tiffany was short-lived as a teen star
