Which version of "You Really Got Me" do you prefer?

I like The Kinks version better. I like more songs from Van Halen overall.

Fan Friday Request:
I’m loving all the content on the YouTube channel! I wish there’d be a station that just plays reruns of old shows.
My request: might be from NBC days, but a fan letter asking the band, when they play “You Really Got Me”, are they thinking of the Kinks or of Van Halen? Then the band played the song and went around one by one showing what each band member was thinking about. One of my favorite memories of the show.
Thanks!

The Van Halen version is often preceded by the instrumental ‘Eruption’, especially on classic rock radio stations

Also, that’s not the only Van Halen Kinks cover. I think that in this case Van Halen wins

Neither one for me.

I've never been a fan of bands that get over promoted by the media and popular with the masses. I tend to like bands that are generally overlooked by the media and don't get the promotion that they deserve. In my experience I've found that it's these bands who usually have the best music. The unheralded heroes of rock music.

LOL, I'm not really fond of any version of that particular song.

Have you heard the song titled Come Dancing by the band No Dice? Should have been a chart topper in my humble opinion but sadly it went largely unnoticed.

No Dice was a British rock band from the late 1970's. Their first album has two versions, the British version from 1977 and the version made for the USA was issued a year later in 1978. I prefer the USA version.

Their 2nd and final album is titled Two Faced and was released in 1979. As far as I know, the band split up sometime in the early 1980's.

Hi 1960's TVfan. I always thought " Come dancing " was by The Kinks!

Hey Bonniegirl , the Come Dancing song by No Dice is their own song, it was written by one of the band members.

Another cool band to check out is the German rock band named Lake, they were mostly active during the 70's and 80's, lots of good songs from Lake if you're interested to check them out.
